Is there any truth to the NPC meme?
I just remembered that when I was a kid I one day had the thought that most people were NPCs. I remembered that I said I had to keep it a secret to not get into trouble. I think I was like 7.

No it's just easier to think of everyone that way than considering the alternative, that everyone has just as much of a deep and complex experience of life as yourself.
Plus a lot of people are dumb, both those who believe it and those who make people believe it so that doesn't help.
>>
>>41001874
How can you be so sure of it? I mean, I can't read people's minds to know how complex they are. It's possible that not everyone is as deep and as complex as the rest of us.
>>
>>41001885
I don’t believe in NPCs it’s more people are just struggling to survive. If you have all your needs met maybe you can think of higher philosophies or have creative thoughts.
>>
>>41001885
Because one of the most npc looking and acting npcs of all npcdom surprised me once when we started talking, he was actually a passionate and intelligent person, just quiet.
And I had him pegged as a golemlike roboman.

There definitely are some empty headed NPCs out there but I doubt there's that many that are truly that retarded. The middle ground ones which are the majority simply just act like that.

The real issue with NPC is they all have this burned in fear of anti conformance. NPCs desperately want to feel apart of the normie collective, in their yes being different is a fate worse then death. Being a social outcast or loser in any manner is the worst thing. People with hobbies, interests, or wisdom that would make then non NPCs chose to keep all this stuff bottled up in fear of being outed as a 'weirdo'.

Think about it in all forms of media. The outcasts get bullied or forgotten. They don't get the girl. The people that like trains or stamps are autistic. The people that like computers are geeks. Only chad normie jocks and stacey barbie popular kids are successful. These cliches are drilled into the normie psyche so hard that they outright fear it more then their life.

I disagree, that’s like a lot like victim blaming for manifesting sexual predators. Or worst, predators manifesting victims.
The facts is manifesting is preferable on the positive side than to the negative side.
If there are robots in the world right now, then there are parks like “westworld”

https://nintil.com/p-zombies-are-still-undead

>Let's start by the trivial zombie case. In this hypothetical world, you have beings that are like humans but are not conscious. In this world, there is no vocabulary relating to consciousness - no talk of pain, unconsciousness, redness, qualia, etc-.

>When you first arrive there, you see what you would expect to see: cities, roads, people doing what people do, etc. You would initially think that they are conscious, but on a closer look, you would realize that they never talk about anything mental!

>These lite-zombies do not engage in certain activities that regular humans do engage in, like discussing consciousness.

>This almost-full zombie world is not yet the zombie world. Daniel Dennett argues here that P-zombies have to act in every possible circumstance like humans. It could be said, however, that there are humans who could disbelieve in consciousness (proclaiming it to be an illusion, a product of a cognitive algorithm), and thus end up talking like that. Those humans and their zombie versions, would produce the same behaviour, hence at least for a set of humans, zombie-ism is true. That is, there exist a subset of the world such that it is possible to create a Zombie World for that subset of the world.

>My zombie version would have to write the same posts I do, and talk about consciousness in the same way as I do. In doing so, the zombie would not be confused/understand anything, have beliefs/thoughts/preferences, be justified or unjustified in anything he says, etc. Those are all mental categories. If the zombie says 'I am in pain' that event is in the same category as a simple print("I am in pain") compiled and executed by a computer. That is, is is true in a trivial functionalist sense (It does what systems that we usually think feel pain do), but false in a strict sense (There is no associated qualia of pain, or preference against pain).

most people learn to bottle up and ignore complex thoughts because it is more comfy to go through life without them
all you need to be happy is a lobotomy, train yourself to
>get all opinions from media
>consumption of products as a hobby
>do what your boss says
wake up, go to work, consume, sleep, repeat
complex thoughts about the nature of reality, how all this is a circus parade marching into the mouth of a giant concrete beast, how the guiderails of civilization punish those who think outside of the predetermined paths, those thoughts will only make you sad and angry

the NPC is a PC who values comfort over honesty.
things is, if you spend enough time as an NPC you train your brain so that you get stuck there

I think most people never recover from turning off their minds.

I think empty headed are most qualified to be in a spiritual life.
Like me for example, I learned facts are absolute, yet hermetic laws teaches all truth are half lies and all lies are half true, different in degree.
>>
>>41002122
New age isn't spirituality.
>>
>>41002164
This goes beyond new age, modern science is finally catching up. This picture is shows polarity and gender in terms of electromagnetism.

>>41001861
Never be distracted
Never let the main thing get taken away from you
It's a shame and sad, but it is what it is

Die with the thing you want the most in your mind and on your tongue. And then remember
They can't kill you but they think they can.
>>
>>41001885
>How can you be so sure of it?
Because nothing in the world is simple. How can you be so sure that "everything that doesn't think like me is an NPC" ? That's a comforting thought to your primitive monkey brain but you have nothing to back it up.
>>

>NPCs are physically attractive
biggest incel cope i've ever heard lmao.

>At the summit of the animal kingdom are those species of animals that have begun to develop a mental sheath. These are the transitional forms between the animal kingdom and the next level of spiritual evolution.
>The thing that makes us different from other animals is that we have mental sheaths, the first tentative step toward a mental body.
>Like other souls at this stage of evolution, you evolved the first rough form of a mental sheath while still in animal form, and in the incarnation after you accomplished that, you were reborn as a human being.
>Some of us have only the most rudimentary mental sheaths and can only just begin to glimpse the lowest expressions of the mental plane. Some of us have developed our mental sheaths to such an extent that they are on the brink of attaining the simplest form of mental body, and a very few of us—the saints and sages among us—have completed the work and will not be reborn again as human beings. The vast majority of us are in between, with mental sheaths of varying levels of development.
>Occult tradition thus recognizes that different people have different needs in life based on their evolutionary state. A soul who has only just evolved a mental sheath would be wasting time trying to understand occult philosophy, while a soul whose mental sheath is well-developed will be drawn to occult philosophy the way a hungry person is drawn to food.
>As a general rule, souls that have just begun the great adventure of human incarnation focus their attention on the material plane, and this is appropriate.
>>
>>41002281
I never said that, imbecile. You have nothing to back up that we are all the same either.

You can't even be honest in your own thread. Duplicitous NPC behavior

You even left the age out to help your argument lmao

I've known two people with obnoxiously generic and empty ways of talking. They both turned out to be very introverted people with a depth inside who simply chose that as their method of presenting to others.

I think there's a kind of person who really doesn't care about being seen as individual and special. They're at risk of being seen as NPCs but are really a lot less narcissistic and more open to the world than a lot of us.

the NPC is real, and probably caused by a mind virus infection. I'm not sure if the virus is manmade, or naturally occurring.

Until you become a character so lauded and historically weighted that they will tell stories about you a millennia from now
>You are also an NPC
>>
>>41001861
I think there's levels to it. There's layers of "awakenings" that people have throughout their life. It's usually called "aging" or "growing up" but I think it's deeper than that. Some people never have their 2nd or 3rd wisdom level-ups. Most women have one at 14, then not again until they're 40. Men get one every 10 years, unless they're manchild or drug addicts or low IQ murderrapists.

How can you have any doubts when there's countless videos, new ones posted daily. All the Karens of the world and other retards with zero self awareness. Chinese and indians involved in accidents, they look completely bewildered, lights are on but nobody is home.
>>
>>41001861
There are people out there, who are so plugged in, they don't think, they just react. I liken it if you've ever been in 'the zone', of concentration. It's hard for non-npcs to tap into, usually it requires ideal circumstances and other necessities, seems to be unique to the individual.

There are people that are in that state, fully, 24/7.
