you harm spirits by using their belief structures against them. If they believe a bullet harms them they will fear it. If theyre astral zoomers who havent beennin physical realms it wont intimidate them. They all break eventually, if youre set enough on finding out what their weak spot is. Vampiric beings arent just the folkloric stuff either. Manipulating etheric energy is common to many beings and attaching cords for control and observation isnt new. People do it often without noticing and some do it intentionally. Some beings you would classify as vampiric also drain energy because their natural "generator" was purposefully destroyed or bound, leading to a dependence on others. Some heal that in their journey, some wear it as a sign of solidarity and see no need to fix it.
there are a lot of myths about how various shapeshifters and reptilian creatures attacked people during the day, attacked the baptized, and operated in churches. It's hard to say, but all the crap you read is real. Maybe vampires were killed by other spiritual beings or it's just that in the 21st century there's no point in them hunting people
