I saw a chart once that compared various machines and there output compared to their energy requirements. Bicycles were near the top. I feel liberated every time I get on a bike to run an errand. Bad car drivers are the worst downside. Plus you are limited by how much stuff you can carry, but it beats walking. As a kid, the news videos from China always showed a sea of people on bicycles then quickly almost nothing but cars. It's so chill and meditative. I try to spend less time on screens. It's becoming easier to not waste time pissing into the wind by engaging in pointless arguments online. So yeah, anything like hobbies are X to me, as they break the mass hypnosis and slow down time. Let's take our lives back bit by bit. No more complaining without actually doing something. Art, music, gardening, bushcraft, home/auto repair, books, comics, tinkering and just plain ol' learning. Spread the idea.
