Maybe you have been some kind of "higher" being, but through bad/egoistic actions you were reborn as a human with bad luck. Ive witnessed particular practices in the higher realms where faggots were mindraping people until they gave up their fight, lowered themselves and were then stuck with impairment which had to mended over time. This caused effects which we would describe as "karmic" from our earthen perspective but had nothing to do with a lawful process. Some of those people and some witnessed of it also got so enraged that it lowered the bar for retaliation to such a degree that they would return the favour or isolate away. If a deity is mad at you they'll tell you straight. If a lord of karma is earnestly asked to explain themselves they would, just like a real prison on earth. Expect no less from forces above.
