Do I specifically need to meditate in lotus or full lotus? At the moment I'm having problems with back pain and that would be hard for me, can I meditate with my back against a wall in a position similar to pic related? What's your meditation pose frens?

Yeah, sitting meditation is BS. Your meditation sessions are better in a position you're most comfortable with and should be performed preferably right before sleep. It's all in the mind anyway.

Download this book and read it thoughtfully, half lotus or full lotus is not necessary, your core and breathing apparatuses are more important. Do exercise and hatha and/or vinyasa yoga to strengthen your back in order to sit on a chair with no back support.

Back support is NOT recommended. You can train yourself through exercise and just sitting so you can teach your body to be erect but also relaxed at the same time to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Yes lotus is good but it takes lots of time to achieve.

Lotus is good for back issues.
The psoas muscle attaches to the lumbar spine and the lesser trochanter of the femur, so when the femur rotates into the lotus position, the lumbar spine is pulled into a good straight up and stable sitting position.
The ability to do this depends on opening and stretching the hips. If they aren't open enough then it will harm the knees and ankles.

i lift my left hand up.

your hand will naturally form 666. dont be mad about it. only because they told you its bad doesnt mean anything. nothing means anything but the conclusions you come to by yourself.

they want you to see this, it makes them happy for some reason.

I've been practicing half Lotus with my right leg, I'm doing it for 3 months. Then 3 months with my left leg. Hoping for full Lotus by March, but I am not flexible at all

You can meditate in any position but easy pose and Lotus/half Lotus give you better chi flow and breath control.

The modern Zen Masters like Suzuki say you can meditate with your back against a chair. I don't feel like I can get in the flow state like that, "zazen" just has the sound of cross-legged, but you also don't want to "play the role of the forest-dweller," in Buddha's words from the Lotus Sutra.

I never used to sit and meditate, following the words of the Sixth Patriarch that all you need is to realize you are the Pure Self-Nature. But I started again after about a decade this month. My waking contemplative State is much better now, yet I'm getting diminishing returns already and don't really see the use of it since I constantly see the Nature.

Nice info, as a physiotherapist I know most anatomical terms and I'd love reading something which uses them in great detail, do you have any meditation book in which you read about what you wrote?

Elaborate please on this. You mean that you are always in a meditative state even during waking life? Isn't sitting meditation in dark and silence better?

yes

There's certain energetic reasons why you might want to adopt a certain pose, but unless you're specifically operating within a tradition that requires you to sit a certain way (and you're not, or else you wouldn't be asking /x/ this question) there's really no reason to adhere to postural requirements. Just make sure you're sitting somewhat straight (or even lying down, doesn't matter as long as the spine is straight). Biggest thing to guard against while sitting in a chair or laying down is falling asleep and general drowsiness. But that shouldn't be a thing anyway during meditation sessions if you take the appropriate precautions.

Sit comfortably on a chair. Place your hands on your thighs and knees. Rest your feet on the ground at a 90° angle. Relax your body fully. Meditate.

Can't wait for your book.
Be sure to name it as you once said "The door to samadhi" (this is the name right?)

Upload it everywhere (amazon e.t.c.), maybe 4chan won't be around forever and we will lose contact with you.
