I also knew a girl from a liberal pro-choice family in high school but was also somehow Catholic. She's always debate the other Catholic kids that you can be Catholic while still being pro choice and had Bible quotes to back it up. The other kids had Bible quotes too I had no dog in that fight so I thought it was funny as hell. Point is: just read the Bible and you will either be cured or justify it to yourself with some of the verses.
