Why do you think various cultures and many different people see the same things? Usually with sleep paralysis it’s either a shadow man, a hag, maybe some other weird monster. I've seen the Hag a handful of times over the years and last night saw it looking directly at me in front of me, which is odd because usually it’s off to the side. I think it’s subconscious, but why do so many people see the same thing?

Sleep paralysis cant happen to me, because I learned to react quickly. You have to react when it is starting, it is a short window but you need to waken up right at the start and fast, no matter how tired you are. If you dont react, it hooks on you. It is a distortion on the reality mesh, and leads you to a umbral place. It will be followed by lack of breathing, and can lead to death if you dont fight it.

I'm never paralyzed and I never see people but I do see weird stuff often when I wake up. The most profound one was when I woke up and my whole apartment was covered in a red mist and there was very bright light coming from the windows. I got up and sat on the side of my bed and a book covered in eyes slowly flew across my room and it was flapping like a bird by opening and closing. Kind of like picrel but it was skin colored.Other than that it's usually insects and orbs
