Imagine a video game with a low speed limit, but all values are stored in the machine's memory, not in objects themselves. If you change something in the game then it changes some values in the memory. Then other objects in the game, no matter where they are, are affected too instantly, without breaking the speed limit, because the information did not have to travel at all.
