Old Testament God, the God of the Jewish people is YHWH, right? Or Qos, by presumably another name, son of EL and Asherah etc. This makes total sense to me.Jesus being Jewish worships YHWH, too, right? So, by extension, YHWH is also the God of the Christians, right? So Christians worship YHWH, (and Jesus too).But, don't you guys think that that's weird? Like-- We've taken this ancient semitic desert God-- And essentially like, cleaned up his image to make him "palatable" to a bunch of non-desert people.To me, it feels like Christians are lying to themselves, really. Even when reading the Bible it's considered "Old Testament" as a "different God" but really, it's not. Both are YHWH, just one is through the lens of Jesus.It's like saying, "Well, here's this apple, and if we crush it up, we can call it apple sauce." But, then, all the apple sauce lovers pretend that apples don't exist now that they have apple sauce, but you're worshipping the same thing, really. You're still eating the apple.Like- I totally get where Jesus is coming from. But, I think he knows that his God, his Holy Father is YHWH, a semitic desert God from Mesopotamia. But, the rest of Christianity doesn't or won't acknowledge that fact.Is it weird to anyone else? It's like they've white-washed or watered down who God is. All my cousins and uncles and aunts are all like, "Praise God!" but I don't think they understand, truly, who that God is. They just think God = Christ, but who is the God of Christ? It's just bonkers to me.

Early on it was declared heresy at the council at Nicaea that some systems of thought didn't quite match with the rest, and this was another part of the reformation for mostly western christianity, because it was decided by that council that triune God was such that God is God, Christ, and holy spirit all 3 despite Christ being man. Eastern orthodoxy gets it even closer by understanding fundamentally that this explains our place accordingly to match reverse
