I've been into witchcraft since I was 12, and now I'm 21. I study natural witchcraft, chaos witchcraft and psychic witchcraft. But at the same time, I feel really drawn to Catholicism, igenuinely like it. The thing is, I don't follow any specific religion, I see myself as agnostic, because I still have doubts even though I believe in some things.
So here's my question: is it possible to study witchcraft and Catholicism together? Can I practice both? Or should I just fully embrace agnosticism?

You’re retarded and you don’t know what I’m doing rn
>>
>>41107459
yeah, that’s why I’m here asking strangers

>is it possible to study witchcraft and Catholicism together?
If you consider to get elected as the next pope, then do it, faggott.
>>
>>41107468
Well the answer is no, and you shouldn’t be practising Catholicism either, they are hypocrites. The magic practitioners that took up following Jesus burned their expensive magic books.
>>
>>41107445
What do you like about Witchcraft that Catholicism lacks?
>>
>>41107477
This is legit lmao
>>
>>41107445
Rather than limit yourself to arbitrary practices, focus your studies on the simple accomplishment of communing with the world beyond. You study religions and stories of real people and documented spiritual pheneomena to be able to discern better. Discernment is important because spiritual spirits can have motivations and effects on you for which you need an information advantage insofar you are able to.

No one should really care about powers until youve mastered the art of common sense and communication.

I also think Catholicism is hypocritical in some ways, they use a lot of things that actually come from so-called pagan religions. But I'm torn, because the Catholic aesthetic, the prayers, God, the whole idea of redemption really calls to me.
>>
>>41107445
>Can I practice both?
Short answer would be yes. Long answer would be yes, because of the many traditions such as Vodou, Santeria, Palo Mayombe, Macumba, Quimbanda, and such that do just that. Syncretic practice in religion is also very very common.

Witchcraft feels more empowering to me, because it's about taking responsibility for myself instead of waiting for divine judgment. And I love how it celebrates nature and connects with spirits beyond just one God.
>>
>>41107518
Good advice, thank you so much! I'll follow it.
>>
>>41107544
So, I see myself as a syncretist. I like several religions, which is why I don't follow a specific one, but I'd like to study Catholicism and witchcraft together. Thank you for your input. I thought it was really cool that you know about Quimbanda and Macumba. Are you Brazilian? lol
>>
>>41107548
Interesting. I would say you have a slightly warped view of Catholicism if you think it doesn’t have those things. The whole point of Christianity is to take up your responsibility/cross and carry it up the mountain. For example, confession, it’s not enough to just say sorry, you have to be personally responsible enough to go kneel in the confessional.
I get the appeal of connecting to more spirist, but hey we have the whole choir of saints watching you and praying for you. There’s thousands of saints, that are real people alive in heaven directly in contact with God, and one could spend their whole life studying them. Not to mention Mary!
The nature one I can concede - Catholicism doesn’t put any special reverence on “Mother Nature”.

>Are you Brazilian?
No, just very aware of many African diasporic religions, mainly because they give a good format for syncretism. I have my own thing that is kind of built on the work of similar stuff.

Brother do you know that all witchcraft , magic etc. is just the demons doing your will ? We have no such power on our own . Also , have you heard about eastern orthodoxy ? It is the one and only true Christian faith and church . Research about it and you will understand why . To me it seems that God is drawing you to him using what you know . I'll try to check in on this thread so if you have any questions or just want to debate or whatever feel free to do so brother .

Medieval and post-medieval europe is full of catholic grimoires. Priests were the main class of people who practiced magic alongside folk healers and cunning men.
>>
>>41107445
Stick with what you're doing and skip out on the abrahamic jewshit. Since you're into magick, maybe look into something like Thelema, a chaos magick order, or if interested in the LHP, something like Draconian magick and one of it's orders.

If you want to go to a Catholic Church, then you must NOT discuss you're Witchcraft beliefs and/or practices with anyone there - Ever! You could create the "Church of You" in your mind that always trumps and overrides any beliefs that come up from outside of you that you may experience. Say, you want to experience a cult - your inner faith is always superior, with no exceptions. "The Kingdom of God[dess] is Within - not out There somewhere! You can't share those beliefs either! What you will experience is how to set up rituals! Don't be Confirmed, and don't get Baptized, unless you are willing to surrender all of your magickal belief to them.

Christianity is part of your heritage and the deep history of your people and you should know something about it for that reason alone.

This. But OP should explain before what's been doing or done so far.
