https://lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Deep_One

lmao this has been interesting to watch. the most horrifying thing is their guesses. it's like an llm trying to count the r's in strawberry: so seemingly simple and yet it becomes obvious that there is some flaw preventing it from ever understanding the answer. "beyond the ken of mortal beings" as hp would say i suppose.

The water connection is older than the air one. Demons from the sea is an old shit in every culture, lots of sea voyages had encounters with all kind of freaky shit from tentacles to strange lights, well SPECIALLY strange lights. Lovecraft being a good nerd caught that in his books.

>Unironically did HP lovecraft know something about UFO/entities?

People don't seem to be interested in myths at all, and don't read pagan texts, fairy tales, or stories.

Most often, various creatures appeared to people from the water.

The Romans wrote that manes could be summoned from caves. The Mysteries adored volcanoes and caves.
Pagan rituals were often associated with water gods.

>As he was looking at the Ho [Yellow River], a tall man, with a white face and fish's body, came out and said, 'I am the spirit of the Ho.' He then called Yu, and said, 'Wan-ming [Yu] shall regulate the waters.' Having so spoken, he gave Yu a chart of the Ho, containing all about the regulating of the waters; and returned into the deep.

>Elatha is described as being the "beautiful Miltonic prince of darkness with golden hair". He was the son of Delbaeth and a king of the Fomor, and he was the father of Bres by Eriu, a woman of the Tuatha Dé Danann. He came to her over the sea in a vessel of silver, himself having the appearance of a young man with yellow hair, wearing clothes of gold and five gold torcs.

I'm just reminding you that the Sumerians wrote that all knowledge was obtained from creatures emerging from the water (although in many myths, evil creatures or simply contradictory ones could emerge from the water that influenced the weather if sacrifices were not made to them)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apkallu

>Viracocha eventually disappeared across the Pacific Ocean (by walking on the water), and never returned
>During their journey, Imaymana and Tocapo gave names to all the trees, flowers, fruits, and herbs. They also taught the tribes which of these were edible, which had medicinal properties, and which were poisonous. Eventually, Viracocha, Tocapo and Imahmana arrived at Cusco (in modern-day Peru) and the Pacific seacoast, where they walked away across the water until they disappeared. The word "Viracocha" literally means "Sea Foam.

Btw
Aphrodite (Scythian goddess with snake legs, Derceto, Inanna, Astarte, etc.)
Fell from the sky in a huge egg, and in the Middle East, she was believed to have a fish/snake tail. The egg (ship?) was rolled ashore by fish (Apkallu/Naga).
Her name also means sea foam.

Scientists deny it (but I wouldn't be surprised if they know the truth in their offices), but myths tell the truth, people didn't give it away, yes, of course, planets and natural phenomena were also deified, everything is confusing, but there are also real contacts with some very developed entities
