He invested his entire fortune in all this prepper nonsense and scared off pretty much all his friends and relatives with his psychotic panic. When the world still existed on New Year's Day, he must have felt really stupid. He sold all his prepper stuff and then took the money and fucked off somewhere abroad where no one knows him and can laugh at him for his stupidity.
