I believe its beyond just lucifer, I believe at the highest level it is restoring the world to pure light since it is taught that pure light has no form besides when a shadow is casted. Which is our world, a shadow casted behind pure light. Perhaps that is one of the tricks taught by the snake.So maybe at the highest level they are trying to break God or this reality in order to reshape or control it.
