I was working for a company I loved, good pay, remote, etc. My boss started saying he was going to sell the company, and I was in charge of gathering potential buyers. Fuck that. When I declined what he was insinuating, suddenly he started a new project and I had to start working 80 hours a week for AI implementation on our website. Paired with the looming threat of having the floor drop from underneath me (and the constant stress making me feel like I was about to have a heart attack), I eventually quit. Quietly worked my last two weeks, trained the people in my department to take over my role, etc. Well, it's been five months since then. Guess what company hasn't sold, and everybody is still there? You can't tell me this wasn't a deliberate operation to get me to quit. I can't stop thinking about it. I basically ran the company. Their performance has gone down considerably with my absence, and they haven't found anyone to replace me.
