You definitely need to drink more water, cut out soda completely and limit it to maybe a few times a month at most.We as Americans are really attached to soda but I can tell you as someone who cut it out of my diet a decade ago that once you go a month or two without it, it's way too sugary once you drink it again and you won't be able to stand having it occasionally.The problem is most of us are given soda from a super young age and gain a tolerance for the high sugar amounts.Personal advice: take a 72 hour fast, drink water, and drink a serving of something with electrolytes once a day to avoid vomiting stomach acid on the 3rd day (this happened to me).After a fast, your stomach shrinks and it takes less to feel full and it's easier to start eating to 80% fullness.
