Hey all. Been a TI for around 5 years, starting around a year after the covid pandemic got going. The first couple of years sucked a lot, but eventually, bit by bit I figured out that this is an external, malicious thing, that its technologically based, and from there worked out the limitations they are under and how take advantage of that. This aspect of the topic gets brought up constantly and it's worth diving into. When we begin experiencing these things, the anomalous voices that seem to come from any direction, or person, or object, so perfectly aligned with the experience of auditory hallucination that its hard to notice that it has a clear audible component to it (and it's been picked up on recordings lol); the weird physical effects imitating symptoms of various disorders and diseases; the back and forth theatrics and narrativization about everything.

Essentially this document aims to explain the main differences between mental illnesses and the TI phenomenon, because too many of us when this started happening to us thought we had some disorder or another and sought psychiatric help, but those medications will ruin an otherwise healthy brain; meanwhile, a lot of people with actual mental disorders beginning to manifest catch wind of this topic and think it's that, forgoing getting the help they need.

What my writing suggests - what works for me, at least, take it for what you will - is that regardless of what they throw at you, you always have a way to dismantle whatever false narrative they try to build and ignore any lie they tell. It just takes time to train yourself to do so without much effort in the moment to moment minutia of your life. A lot of what they say is purely just to capture your attention and try to hold it as long as possible so you are distracted and worn down 24/7, so it's important to try to mitigate that.
