What can you tell me about Gnosticism?
>>41171286By retards for retards. Send you straight to hell.
Some homo made it up
>>41171286Have you ever flexed your sphincter muscles and it cracks your lower back?
>>41171301>>41171314You sound like malicious drones.
>>41171286At least its name is kinda good. The pursuit of knowledge.I made up a new branch of gnosticism.Baitism: the pursuit of knowledge by gathering information from people via spamming bait threads on /x/ and 4chan in general.
In my experience, some of them act like Christians.“YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID BRO! WEE GOTTA AWAKEN PEOPLE!!!!THIS IS ALL SUPER DUPER SERIOUS!!!!”There’s no mission. There’s no demiurge. The laugh of realization is the most peaceful things I’ve ever experienced.
>>41171286>What can you tell me about Gnosticism?Theism and gnosis are like 2 sides of the same concept. The theistic God is absolute good and his creation is perfect. The Demiurge-god is totally evil and his creation is a nightmare. Both is not consistent with common experience.
>>41171286To understand gnostic words you need Jewish Aramaic. Yalda-Baoth, Ab-Raks, Chokmah, Daath, and many more.>>41171386Daath is the single most important quality you have to work for in Qabbalah.
>>41171301>hellnot real. cry about it.
>>41171286Christian Gnostics saw YHWH for the monster he is and spread the truth.
>>41171286In medieval times it was quite popular amongst poor people, but also some more influential people. In southern France they were known as Waldensians. It can get pretty nasty, because if gnostics come together to form groups, polygamy can happen. Also people got encouraged to kill themselves and so on. It reminds me a lot about Sabbatai Zevi and Frankists. If this world is made by an evil entitiy, it's worldly ideas must be evil too, so let's invert everything.
>>41171286Its fake and gay
>>41171286Better than regular christcuck jew worship, but still too jewwy. Regular Neoplatonism and other non-jewwy versions of gnostic thought are far better.
That Abraxas is a bitch'n chicken
Roughly a century or two into the beginning cults, Plotinus had some writings on the Gnostics. He'd mentioned they talked a lot about the Yaldaboath. Plotinus was famously the founder of Neoplatonism and, having studied a great deal of Plato's works, was very familiar with them. He insisted vehemently that these Gnostics, although heavily influenced by Plato, had diverged considerably from what he posited: the Yaldaboath or Demiurge isn't "Evil" like they'd all been saying. This bitter position where imminent escape is planned is somewhat confused; the idea isn't to curse and evade higher powers, but to work with them, to negotiate, to petition and to dwell with them or attain a similar level of understanding. Plotinus really helped the Gnostics mature. They later formed many Mystical schools as a result of this and refined their system quite a bit.
>>41174032I genuinely love how Gnosticism is continually evolving as we grow in understanding of the universe.Name another belief system like this? You can't.

An attempt to undo the innovations of the christ cult and return it to a more orthodox framework of Greek mystery religion. It died out but was reconstructed largely by French hedonists in the 19th century as an edgy larp.
