I was in the Texas GT program from first grade all up through high school - what the fuck were they doing to us? When I was very little a tyrannical student councilor tried to get me diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder because I didn't like her or the very mean and rude CATHOLIC NUN that was a teacher's assistant in my public school. Were they trying to weaponize certain students? Filter us out and monitor us? Clip our psychic "wings" before we could do anything with such abilities? Or was it all a stupid larp? I do remember it being very new age in hindsight.

>>41181669>>41181672I grew up and learned in the Las Vegas educational system and I remember through the years, but primarily on elementary in Middle School, when an individual would come into the classroom and talk to the teacher about taking kids for the Gate program. There was an initial screening at the start of the year and it just followed those individuals selected as the years go on. I remember one day telling the teacher that I was interested in the Gate program and that I wanted to go with the students selected. I was always jealous. Whatever cool thing they were leaving the class to go do.I remember one time my teacher let me leave with the rest and in the designated classroom I saw desks with those old ass headphones and cards with shapes on them. I didn't get to participate though, the instructor in the room just sent me back saying I wasn't part of the program. I was bummed because I felt like I really wanted to go be a part of whatever it was that they were doing (didn't know at the time)
