>What is TRE?
TRE stands for Trauma/Tension Releasing Exercises, a somatic trauma therapy system created by David Berceli.

>How do I perform TRE?
Official tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUioDuJjFI
More interesting demo:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbbaFTTvxU0
More demos can be found on YouTube.

>Why should I do TRE?
Releasing tension from your body has tons of physical and mental health benefits. The technique has very strong effects on the nervous system which every human should experience for themselves.

>What does this have to do with /x?
The underlying mechanisms that are triggered in this technique are the same ones used for "opening the channels" in Qigong, or "purifying the nadis" in Yoga. Purifying the nervous system is the gateway to any proper spiritual practice.

WARNING:
If you are heavily traumatized or schizo, limit your session time to a maximum of 10 minutes when starting out. Normal people can start with 20-30 minutes. This is a real and extremely strong technique. Beginners should rest for 48 hours between sessions.

no, this is bullshit. you can't release a trauma. its already there in your mind. nothing can release it.

Wrong my friend. In addition to TRE, which is great. Try "honest sharing":

Why lie on your back and scream like a lunatic when you can just dance and get the exact same benefit as well as some exercise?
>>
Same anon again. I can now tremor at will in a couple of seconds in any chosen area of the body, although it gravitates naturally towards bigger nearby muscles. Not been doing much more than ten seconds or so at a time though, been just experimenting with setting off just one foot/shin, my neck (lol), things like that.

Any reason for not doing longer sessions?
>>

No, I just I haven't bothered doing an actual session for the last week or so, just been trying quick experiments every now and then while doing other stuff. It seems with smaller scale stuff not triggered by fatigue at all, like setting off one foot just by thinking about it seems to just come naturally to a stop pretty quickly too, and then I just carry on with whatever I was doing.
I suppose I'm due for a lying down dedicated session again.

Wrong. It's very effective. I've been doing this for about 5 months and it's the only thing that helped me
>>
Bump trying this out. Haven't followed the guide bot gotten to shake. I may just be out of shape...
>>

I don't get tremors, my legs just start swaying in and out, it never progresses into tremors and it doesn't move up towards my core.

I've read papers on the matter and a lot of it is bullshit. For example the nervous system doesnt store trauma and theres zero proof of repressed memories being a thing. However, for some reason it has worked in trials. People with PTSD or similar things have showed improvement.

So with things we can infer that TRE works at least a bit but the mechanism is unknown.

Put your penis in your hand and go forward and backward.
This is the most trauma releasing exercise ever.

I did TRE 5 years ago and it:
>gave me ED
>Ruined my relationships
>Gave me brain damage

Because it overloaded my nervous system and it gave me the same symptoms of stopping antidepressants cold turkey, don't do TRE

Descartes was a filthy liar

Mind and body are the same thing and a large part of your nervous system is embedded in your muscles

Deep emotions are embedded and stored in muscle tensions that are usually below the threshold of daily awareness

For me, it's yoga.
