Most horror movies are honestly not very scary. The only ones I can think of that actually scared me are Hereditary and Kairo.
I don’t watch horror movies to be scared I watch them to be entertained. So they must be somewhat realistic and interesting.

Skinamarink was unironically the first horror film to make me have a hard time falling asleep in a long time. I need glasses so laying in bed without them I felt like I was in the movie. Also the fact most of the movie takes place in silence made it even harder to not feel like I was still in the movieThe Witch is a slow burn but it really hits at the end
