As I understand at this moment, Jesus was born of immaculate conception. Jesus was always a part of God's plan. He was and is the perfect blueprint of how a human should be. Jesus' words and actions have such depth to them and while I don't agree with how Gnostics view God in the OT, I think they were on the right track with how they read between the lines. Jesus' life on Earth was God living before us in the flesh, but this brings up a topic I've been thinking a lot about lately; Would you say that there are many Christians who unintentionally pray and worship Jesus' human form instead of worshiping the God who he was part of? I know Jesus is part of the Trinity and was God in the flesh, but when I pray I always pray to God directly. I know Jesus is the reason I can do that and is our intercessor, but I guess I'm just trying to find the absolute correct way to understand this.

Christ Himself said that people who had seen Him had seen the Father also. Not that they are the same person, but that they share equally and fully in the same divine being that is the one true and living God.

We can only enter a state of grace though Christ wherein it's possible to behave in a Christ like way, but it's important not to confuse yourself about how this works or what's on offer. Christianity does not offer you a state of permanent and irreversible ascension to a state of spiritual perfection, unlike say Buddhism.
