I think the reason information is allowed to flow in this somewhat unrestrained fashion is that they have achieved such a grip on real power that mass awareness of their nature cannot endanger them. Furthermore this era of unveiling will not ultimately be allowed to last. The heavy censorahip is coming, in some way, in some fashion. It will he subtle, directed towards mass anxieties (like Covid censorship) and mediated through technologial apparatuses like a social credit score.
