I did a year long Jupiter initiation. Every Thursday i conjured him and his spirits asking for nothing but initiation into his sphere and for his guidance on the matter. At this point in my life I was an executive chef for a small local restaurant making 65k/y living in an old two bedroom apartment in a downtown of a city with 600k people.

1 month in: effects are immediate, a local writer does a write up on my food and feature on me in the paper, i get asked to teach a career development class at a college, i get an honorary degree in theology from a seminary for letting them publish a 96 page essay i wrote on comparative hellenic religion.

3 months in: shit hits the fan. my ex storms into my apartment and takes my kid during my time with her then witholds me from seeing my daughter for two months. I am forced to initiate a custody case.

6 months: I have to represent myself in the case because I can't afford a lawyer, really depressed and stressed about work as its gotten extremely busy with all the write ups the food writers have been doing on me. get opportunities to do fancy coursed dinners for private parties where people want to taste my food.

11 months: my restaurant has a line out the door all day every day, im working 70 hours a week we're doing 125k/w. on top of this my custody case is heated and im being character smeared in court. angry at everyone and everything and am tempted to quit my job. force myself to see it out into the new year. im exhausted, resentful, and depressed because of all the stress. I am the top dog chef in the city and fighting for my paternal rights at the same time, employer refusing to give me a raise even though im the reason for the increase in business.

12 months: For the finale of the initiation I finally do some practical magic. I ask Jupiter for "A new job that provides me with plenty of time for my kid, working for people that love and respect me, and financial security for us." I craft a ring as a symbol of the initiation.

The following week I get called in to a meeting with the investors of the restaurant. they made back their money and are closing the business. I get laid off but they write me a really big 6 figure check. I figure this gives me time to take a little break before finding a new chef job. A few days later I win my custody case and get full custody of my daughter. I use the money to put a down payment on a house in the suburbs for me, my girlfriend, and my daughter. As we are moving into the house my girlfriend gets a massive promotion to admin of a university making 250k/y and asks me if id be willing to be a stay at home dad so she can pursue her career goals.

She gives me an allowance of 5k every month, pays all the bills, and I take care of our kids. I spend my days hanging out with the kids, my friends, and working on projects. We're married now.

I missed a few, especially when things got really chaotic. But by then I knew that Jupiter was testing my ability to be a Pater and that more important than the ritual was my ability to act with grace, stability, and paternal strength in the court case and my workplace.

The rituals lasted about an hour - 1.5 hours. I started with a simple cleansing, prayer to God the Father, 10 minutes of meditation, then I'd go into the invocation of Jupiter and his spirits before engaging in a request for initiation and a contemplation on them to try to hear their message for me. There was a lot of paranormal activity during the course of this year but most of his engagement and guidance with me manifested in worldly situation and pursuits. Planets like Luna, Saturn, and Mercury were much more mystical/magical in my initiation and their tests were more internal and less circumstantial.
