Drugs are bad spiritually because it's not good to share your body with another spirit, but if it's all from you then it is an experience all your own. The thing that feels good about meditation is the self realization and understanding that comes from it, becoming an experience onto yourself. Meditation helps you explore your place in this universe and grants the clarity to understand one's role in not only their life but even the bigger picture. I don't like prayer though, I sre it as a lack of personal responsibility; people getting off to the notion they're so insignificant that they must rely on spirits to achieve their goals. A higher power is just a scapegoat to keep people from realizing what they're capable of. Prayer is a cop out for people who are too mentally disturbed to find the comfort to actually meditate.
