Darkness, as in night, is benign... but Evil by definition is malign, and therefore distinct from the benign, mutually completing pairs of opposites, like night and day, hot and cold, male and female, and so on. Health does not require Illness. In fact, for Health to maintain itself, it must actively fight Illness. Likewise, Good must fight Evil; not attempt to justify it with bad philosophy.
