>>41275970in a similar vein, godfrey reggio's qatsi trilogy if you haven't seen it, fricke worked on one of them. if you're looking for more weirdness in the experimental/fine arts end of cinema, matthew barney also fits the bill. james benning's landscape suicide is a unique take on a serial killer documentary. speaking of documentaries, until the light takes us is about fucked up shit that went down in the black metal scene in norway in its early days>>41276120>under the skisthe lesser-known sequel where she takes up a career on the slopes. maybe it's because I saw them on the same day, but I always think of this movie together with upstream colour, another good bit of weirdness (primer by the same director is also good especially for time travel autists).
