Quick reminders for beginners:
-don't forget to write your dreams down after waking up. no matter how little detail, just do it
-reality checks aren't likely to give you a LD by themselves, think of them as a stepping stool, they are not a replacement for techniques
-WBTB is mostly mandatory for most people, if you struggle with your sleep schedule then ADA is your best option
-if you're just starting out you should be doing WBTB in addition to either SSILD or MILD as those two are the easiest techniques
-while WILD and it's derivatives [FILD, DEILD and CANWILD] may sound alluring to some of you, if you cannot fall asleep within 10~20mins you're gonna have a really hard time achieving a WILD

Is it cowardice, or intelligence, to tick off some bucket list items ( I'm literally going to die soon) trough LD-s? I already believe in LOA, im doing nofap and my dreams are more and more vivid each week...Some IRL stuff is extremely expensive (visit Antarctica, for example) but, OTOH, I don't want to become addicted and exclusively reliant on dreams, to the detriment of reality.

I want to share a method I came up with that has been very effective. It causes a boiling frog effect that puts you deep inside the dream. Here's how to do it:

Make an audio track one sleep cycle long(90 minutes). You can put isochronic/binaural tones, or ambient noise or anything you want as long as there are no sudden volume spikes that can wake you up. Set the volume to increase gradually over the 90 minutes. You should tune the audio volume to achieve the following goals:
-It should be just barely audible at 20 minutes
-It should be too loud for you to fall sleep at 40 minutes.
-It should be loud enough to wake you up at around 90 minutes.
You have to adjust the curve and volume levels of your device to be just right for you.

What this achieves is it forces your body to decide between sleep and awake state. The increasing volume must be barely on the threshold of waking you up. If there are no sudden noises, your body will want to keep you asleep, and the increasing volume will cause your body to compensate, pumping more chemicals that keep you asleep, putting you deeper and making it harder to wake up while also keeping your brain in a active wakeful state.

I use gnaural or audacity to make them. Sleep headphones are preferred but not necessary. You should have an easily accessible button that resets the audio track in case you wake up or are unable to fall asleep because of the disruption. I use my laptop for this.

This technique massively increases dream recall and the chance of lucidity at the cost of your sleep being disrupted. You can also use it to wake up in the ideal state for WILD. Let me know if it works for you.

Could you share one or more audio tracks for this if you've made them already? Would make it a lot easier to try.
>>
>>41298287
This is actually a pretty interesting idea to me because my first ever spontaneous sleep paralysis/obe came from a habit of falling asleep to podcasts and I became lucid in a dream by hearing/listening to the podcast in it, then was floating out of my body in my room, and then got locked in sleep paralysis.

Last night I dreamed that I was wallowing in the mud of some dirty brown creek in Texas looking for crayfish or smth when I overturned a rock and discovered a cave system leading down underneath the creek. Next thing I knew I was on board this billion dollar state-of-the-art supersonic space plane launching like a rocket vertically into the sky.

What a wonder, I was just wondering yesterday where the lucid dreaming/astral project threads went

Do you guys also do Gateway stuff?
https://mega.nz/folder/Ns9mhDSC#iKKxSnq5EoG_GxYLeylrSg/

I got this link yesterday but its a bit overwhelming, I know to start at 1, what are the guidelines?
Can you them all at once, or once a day? Night or Day or whatever? ....
>>
I'm dreaming right now.
>>
oh and btw, I'm mainly interested in LoA, has anyone successfully tied the two practices together?

From what I'm understanding (and experiencing) to really nail down night time manifestation, you have to get into a state akin to lucid dreaming, but from there you focus on imagining your desired state, and keep on it instead of wondering off, for that one needs to be focused,
and thus let that scene imprint on your unconscious, and then instead of waking up and remembering, you just drift off to sleep like that

>>41298120
I think its entirely reasonable to see what you want via LD or Astral projection, maybe wonderful even more wonderful actually,
that being said, if you do LoA nothing is stopping you from doing both,
besides real life constraints, and what I mean by that for example with the Antartica visit, it would require you take some intensive training, maybe spend a long time traveling by boat and whatnot, and that's quite a real life commitment to take, I for one would enjoy the trip

but besides that
>I already believe in LOA, im doing nofap and my dreams are more and more vivid each week...
As someone who is the same boat, care to share your experiences in any or all of those fields?
>>
I haven't had a lucid dream in forever, I stopped practicing the techniques when I was a teenager. My dreams have been super vivid since I quit smoking weed, I need to get back into it.
>>
For those unaware, I've been using lucid dreaming to try to ask philosophical questions to dream entities like "What is a secret of the universe no human knows" and have gotten some interesting replies. Last night, however, I had 3 duds that followed the same pattern:

>become lucid
>person I see is smiling and happy as are most lucid dream people
>ask "What is a secret of the universe no human knows?"
>the person frowns, does not speak, and turns their head away from me

This happened with three different entities in one night. What are the chances that three different entities would respond the same way to the same question? It's like the dream world is really trying to prevent me from getting this question answered.

There was a 4th entity that I got an answer to the question to, but it was something crazy and nonsensical about "punching a disco ball".

There’s a TLDR Manual in there. It’s tiny. Just read it.

i went to sleep at 2am and set an alarm for 8am to do the SSILD cycles but i woke up at 7am and for some reason thought oh well i woke up too early and just turned off the alarm and went to bed. think i was too lazy to do the stand up out of bed part but should have done the wbtb/cycles then. but i did have a vivid dream the rest of the night anyway about living with a group of homeless youth with my friend who died last year, first in a big house but got raided by cops and then we had to escape by sliding down a forest and i had two homeless gfs at first then one homeless gf who was really smart and i talked a lot with her about stuff. still gonna try ssild but I enjoyed that dream and lucidity would have ruined the whole plot/illusion of it being reality or whatever
>>
>>41302189
Those tapes only work if you successfully induce sleep paralysis, which they call focus 10 (mind awake body asleep), so it's more effective to do them with WBTB but mainly you need to remember to be completely still (including your eyes) while doing them and if you get an urge to move or itch you need to completely ignore that.
>>
>>41305293
Lmao.
>>
>>41305387
?
>>
>>41304217
>inb4 the tldr just says start at tape 1
I've read it, that's why I'm asking

>>41305293
>WBTB
and what is that?
Also, I think I should fairly easy reach focus 10 at least since I've practice LoA and achieve SATS
one thing still not answered, are you supposed to listen these one per day? or close to sleep time?
or can you just rush through a bunch of them if you have the time?
actually worried about it taking precious sleep time I use to manifest, though I understand its some that will likely help it long term
>>
>>41305538
WBTB is wake back to bed. In this case I just mean sleep for 4-6 hours, wake up with an alarm, then do the tapes. It's not necessary but you'll get to focus 10 easier that way as your body is primed to quickly return to sleep paralysis. Before bed is probably the worst time to do them as you'll probably just fall asleep outright, it's usually recommended to do them after waking up. The most important is the first wave, actually being able to reach the focus 10, which shouldn't be that hard if you do what I said about staying completely still and ignoring urges to move (you're supposed to get urges to move, it's your bodies test before it paralyzes itself). You should only move on to the next track/wave when you've done the previous one successfully, rushing through accomplishes nothing especially if you can't even get focus 10 properly which is the starting point for all the others.
>>
>>41305648
Ah naruhodo, thank you very much for the explanation, it makes sense now.
I'll try them tomorrow morning, and I don't think it will be a issue as I've learned to just sleep through sleep paralysis too.

>mfw I sometimes become lucid in a dream without any technique at all, just from recognizing the "feeling of a being in a dream"

I wish I could teach this technique. It's truly a blessing. Doesn't happen often though.
>>
>>41305915
If I had to describe this technique, it sometimes involves

>noticing how weird the layout of a room/location is and that it is "dreamlike"
>sensing how my body feels different; you can feel the dream space and it feels different than moving through space when you're awake
>>
>>41305915

Sounds like you've learned to identify dream signs. I'm trying to get good at doing this myself.

what are some of you guys' dream signs? i'm curious what the different recurring elements are in different peoples' dreams
for me it's usually a seriously lessened sensation of gravity, not all my dreams are like this but more often than not my own personal gravity is greatly reduced and i often have control over it to a certain degree
>>
>>41298050

You're telling me lucid dreaming is real? I can actually learn this and fuck Diane Foxington?

I am once again asking whoever is in charge to stop giving me these dreams or indeed any dream

>>
>>41306925
It's not just real it's one of the few things on this board to be "scientifically proven" for what that's worth
>>
>>41307281

Is there a downside? This seems like one of those "too good to be true" things. If this is real it means every night you can just live any fantasy you ever want not just sex stuff but snowboarding every day which is super expensive to do irl, wingsuiting, surfing, etc...There has to be a downside or it can't be real or something. Is the downside that it's extremely hard to actually do or you need drugs to do it?
>>
>>41306996

hm.... I will semi-grant your request. From now on you will never have the dreams you are talking about again. However, every working night for the rest of your life you will dream of working an entire shift at your job exactly as it would happen in real life. To balance this, that is on working nights, during the weekends you will dream of the most fantastical amazing things you can imagine or desire. You may accept or deny this offer. You don't have to post to do so, you can just say it out loud. It's up to you if you accept or not.

>tfw hemi sync is binaural
amazing, ok I did the first one, felt fine, I don't think it was sleep paralysis, even though my hands felt excessively sleepy
guess I'll do the next one later today

By the way maybe unrelated, I had a weird experience today, woke up early a little hangover, and wen back to bad sort of inducing the state to manifest again, soft of drift off
but then before I wake up I actually felt her presence, literally like weight on top of me, touch and everything, I knew without a doubt who it was and had a slight kiss and grope before sort being pulled out of it
it was like I was waking up with someone in bed next to me

Anyway I had similar experiences like this before, different from dreaming, but when you can really feel instinctively its a person presence there (or in some cases something other than a person)
Can I safely assume she also that? is there a name or explanation for this anywhere?
>>
>>41308411
the downside is having to wake back up
>>
I dreamed there was a guy who acted like a drill sargeant. I found his shtick tiresome, so I noclipped out of his realm. It felt so tranquil to be in control.
>>
>>41308774
Well... I fucked up
wanted to do tape 2 but got busy with shit, it was about 11 when I finally got down to it, but it was feeling wake enough afterall
was going fine I thought, until getting focus 10, now its four hours later
>>
The few times I accidentally had lucid dreams all stemmed from unintentionally questioning things in my dream, like why my strides were so long while running, weird misprints on money, time loops, that sort of thing. Listed techniques I've tried don't work to well for me no matter how long I've tried them

Went looking through FranksPosts.pdf to see if he too advocated inducing waking sleep paralysis for OBEs and it appears that was indeed the crux of his method as well.

I want to get off the sex-drug (sexual activities, thoughts, fantasies) by using lucid dreaming to -individually, not at once- have sex with the top 6 most beautiful women of whom there is photographic footage. This will mean I "win" sex and, hence, don't have any need to keep playing anymore.
and ,yes, I HAVE already identified the top six, even if I haven't ordered them within the 6-tier rank.
>>
/x/-bros how do you feel about the Head lift technique shilled on the AP subreddit??
>>
>>41312888
It seems to work by waking up while still in "the phase"/some form of mind awake body asleep. I only got it to work once when I became lucid right before actually waking up. Whenever I've tried it after waking up normally nothing has happened. Haven't tried setting alarms (that don't need to be turned off by hand) to trigger it though, I think that could be the secret to it getting it work regularly.
>>
>>41312397
thanks, you may had misunderstand ed me though, I meant 11pm
besides a bit of a broken sleep night, after waking up 9am I listened to the tape because why not
made it through this time, I'm not I was actually in sleep paralysis tho, I could feel my body fairly asleep,
in fact this was pretty much the state I was in the night early on while doing SATS, and while felt deep I knew I could move out any time at will
>>
>>41308411
It's addicting because it's powerful yet accessible, but when you get the itch you have to wait to be tired again because meds to make you sleepy will fuck with your ability to enter REM sleep and have any dreams in the first place
>>
>>41312888
I've never gotten it to work, probably because by the time I'm conscious enough to realize that I should be lifting my head, I'm already TOO awake
>>
>>41312888
it's DEILD
>>
>>41298050
I keep having these recurring dreams where I'm in what I'm fairly certain is a WW1 type scenario on a very small island and I keep trying to take off in a plane but just as it starts to climb into the air, it stalls and explodes. It's common enough that I'm semi-lucid and trying to do as much as possible to avert the situation but it just keeps happening. Lots of trenches, beaches and artillery too. Occasionally I'll be on a submarine and see monsters from the depths that rip me to pieces. I dno what it's worth but it's out there.
>>
I have lucid dreams frequently that I attribute to a general habit of mindfulness that I try and maintain, and while the majority of these LDs are great, I can fly around, talk to recurring characters, explore the sights, etc.., a portion of my dreams are lucid in the sense that I know that I am dreaming, but I lack control over the dream. The way these often play out is me having very restricted movement, one might even say paralysis (but this is a still a dream, not SP) alongside repeated false awakenings. These dreams are very uncomfortable and feel “dark” in a way that I can’t quite put my finger on .

Any insights/advice/ideas on how to overcome this would be appreciated. I wouldn’t call them nightmares but they are very uncomfortable and leave a bad taste in my mouth to start the day.
>>
Have you met dream characters that turned out to be something more?
>>
>>41319144
checked. I have an ex gf that turns up regularly for conversations. I've not seen her in over a decade, have very much moved on. yet she still turns up and has deep conversations with me.
>>
I've started having very vivid dreams of me and my sister being ritually abused. In the past, I've had some weird feelings that my parents were in a cult, but I can't remember any specific details. Later my sister claimed she was molested by them, but I had difficulty her because I don't remember anything happening to me or any strange stuff with her and my parents. The only things remember from childhood that stick out as strange is that my parents never wore clothes at home. I figured they were nudists at the time and abandoned this lifestyle later. I also remember seeing a clip of a porn film where a woman was being gang raped. It was filmed from an overhead perspective. I thought it was a horror movie until I realized what was going on years later.
>>
Made it through tape 3, then soon after entered SATS quite easily following the same cues, stayed in that state for quite a while. I still don't think it felt like sleep-paralysis though.
Also couldn't go back to sleep until I shifted position.
