>People largely used to believe whatever was on tv>Nowadays most people call tv bullshit yet they believe whatever's on TikTok insteadWhat is it about talking boxes that can affect humans this way? It's eerie.
I went to my family thanksgiving dinner once and my entire family couldn't keep their face out of their phones or a tablet (kids) for 5 fucking minutes. I was afraid to talk freely with so many cameras and microphones around me. I felt so creeped out the whole time.
>People shouldn't believe what's on talking boxes>He says, while himself trying to influence others on a talking boxIf you kill yourself on livestream you'll go to Heaven. Don't you want to go to Heaven, anon?
>>41307439It's insane how angry people get at me after a conversation that goes something like this>I saw on reddit/tiktok that (the most unbelievable rage bait loosh farming lie ever) happened >you shouldn't believe those places, most of it is made up to grab your attention
>>41307467What
I made a post to this thread and it's not appearing, you're being censored everyone panic.
>>41307504Just letting you know. I can see this post.
>>41307529Thanks, asshole. I was telling OP that he should not try and convince people to not believe talking boxes while using his own talking box. I used some spicy language.
>>41307546What method is he supposed to use? If everyone is looking at their talking boxes you think he'd get his messsage across writting it down and mailing right up your fucking ass?
>What method is he supposed to use? If everyone is looking at their talking boxes you think he'd get his messsage across writting it down and mailing right up your fucking ass? He's supposed to live the kind of life he advocates for others first and worry about what others are doing second.
>>41307439The human mind processes information in 2 ways, let's call them quick and slow. Quick is reactionary, and quick learning. It's a very handy tool, however it doesn't really process the validity of information, just that it's there. It perceives everything as real. It allows you to react quick enough to dodge a falling tree, an attacking predator, close your eye before something flies into it, or to learn things such as your initial language, basic movement and facial expressions. It's very useful, however it's flaw is that it completely circumvents critical thinking and believes everything to be real as critical thinking is too slow in these situations. Slow is the thinking part of the mind, it processes information slowly but much more effectively, it plans, it validates truth vs lie, it assesses. This is excellent for long term survival and much more, such as art, mathematics, philosophy, health care, etc. however it is far too slow to react quickly and requires previous basic abilities to function as well, such as a learned language, mannerisms, body movement, facial expressions, etc. The quick part of the mind is active at all times, for obvious reasons this is necessary for survival, the problem is that since it perceives everything as de facto "real" in order to react quickly it can easily be manipulated and lied to. The slow thinking side of the mind however is very good at shutting it down when in normal circumstances to prevent this. Except when it comes to TV, Phones, Movies, etc. these forms of interaction, and more precisely the way video works to create the illusion of movement, short-circuit the normal discernment the slow critical part of the mind has, and the quick "everything is real" part mostly takes over and begins reacting to and mimicking what it sees, the suspension of disbelief. Ever wonder why actors who play evil parts get hate mail? Why porn can make people troon out? There's way more to it but ya there ya go.
>>41307494I'm dealing with this with my sister. She "works" from home and is reddit/tiktok literally all day. The most terminally online person I've ever met.Absolutely nothing gets through to her. Advice?
>>41308477Cut her some slack.
>>41307467correct
>>41307472Same here. Almost exactly like my experience but when the topic of celebrity gossip came up everyone had an opinion to voice
>>41309291This year at Thanksgiving just say "bad bunny" with no context and watch them go.
>>41307472>I was afraid to talk freely with so many cameras and microphones around me.If you assumed that everyone's phones are tapped, you'd probably be correct. People just do not care because there are no consequences for surveillance they're aware of.>>41309260>>41307467With that said, I've been putting off that pocket-sized scrying mirror project forever. I should look into starting that again.
>>41307439>phone badVery insightful, OP
I think it has to do with our nature as social creatures. Monkey see, monkey do.
