This might sound like absolute schizo talk but is the Emperor of Mankind of 40k based on a real entity? Do people actually pray to him or its archetype? Because I've accidentally bumped into something that "feels" like that. The feelings I got were majestic, awe-inspiring, gentle but stern and powerful, with a mind of its own. Not really into 40k, but the concept behind the emperor feels strangely right. And I know sometimes when you bump into entities they kind of push your buttons to research about them, which is happening. Has anyone tried to contact this entity? I'm not really talking about the emperor being real, but about something behind its concept being real.
>>41316425sure its possible, why not. all knowledge and ideas are taken from "the immaterium" or "the warp", like a galactic internet we can connect to with our minds - so if we came up with the idea of the God-Emperor, there might be truth to it.
>>41316459How does one access the warp (not through technological means, but like getting inspiration for action or something along those lines)
>>41316489some people are more connected to it, some less, some people have to connection to it at all.
>>41316577>some people have to connection to it at allI don't believe that completely, however I do believe that there are varying degrees of connectivity.I mainly ask because I take anti psychotics and it seems to have blocked my connection to intense waves of inspiration that previously washed over me.I take them to be a good family member/I can better serve my community like this, but man do I miss having that visceral connection
>>41316459Is the warp as bad as they depict it in 40k?
>>41316489HERETICYou will be purged.>>41316782You will BURN.
>>41316489Look into chaos magic and the concept of eregoresBelief is magic and all that
>>41317058How does one actually get results?
>>41316425He is real.>>41316782Worse.
>>41318359By influencing the minds of other people. The more people believe something
>>41316425Oooo I've thought this too, God was actually just an ancient conquerer who was turned into myth, I've always thought this, deified. Someone I heard say, God used to be on mount Olympus, couldn't find him, he must be amongst the stars, welp no, not there either, he must be outside this universe entirely. God is an idea or are we an idea inside God's mind?
>>41318359Unironically with memesThe genes of the soul.Propigate ideas
>>41316425>>41316459WH40K is heavily influenced by hermetical, and gnostic esotericsism. It leans extremely heavy into hermeticism. You won't get it if your uninitiated. As far as an "emperor" figure, there was an old thread on /pol or /x that claimed there was a small number of extremely powerful psychics on the planet who unconsciously control the collective human consciousness of a large percentage of population within their respective regions without knowing that they do so. This is where the "nothing ever happens" comes from. As long as they are alive then the state of affairs within the populace of their region will be relatively normal (low crime, relatively peaceful, etc). The thread was around a decade ago but I remember it saying that Europe used to have the most but now they are all dead or old and that the U.S has the most left now but they are getting old as well.>>41316489>the warpIt's the same thing as the astral plane in hermeticism but you don't want to go there. There are things that live their that will eat your soul.
>>41322587>the astral plane in hermeticism but you don't want to go there. There are things that live their that will eat your soul.Is that referring to both the warp and the astral plane or just the warhammer version
>>41316425>This might sound like absolute schizo talk but is the Emperor of Mankind of 40k based on a real entity?Yes> Do people actually pray to him or its archetype? Not yet>Because I've accidentally bumped into something that "feels" like that. You may have felt his aura.>The feelings I got were majestic, awe-inspiring, gentle but stern and powerful, with a mind of its own.>Well, he is already 12k years old already and a powerful psyker.>Has anyone tried to contact this entity? If he needs you he will manage to contact you.Praise the Emperor.
>>41316489>How does one access the warp (not through technological means, but like getting inspiration for action or something along those lines)Astral travelling, that is the warp, so far you have evil demons, but not overly powerful, and neutral spirits, all that will change in about 10000 years in the future, give it or take it, when Slaanesh is born, it will cut the access to the higher astral levels and leave the lower levels only accessible to our 3rd dimension, also it will make demons really powerful and evil and turn the chaos gods, that already exist in our reality ( in a more benign form) into what they are in 40, meaning hostile to mankind. So far you can still ascend to higher realms of existence, when you die, but that will not be longer possible in the future.
>>41316425Waddup peeps?
>>41316425He's completely fictional but that doesn't stop him from being superior to every other major religion's central figureThe Emperor Protects
>>41316425I just read the most recent core rulebook for the first time yesterday. The Emperor is very clearly and very expressly described as being both deific and undead. His followers have ONE universal symbol that connects them all: the Skull. The Emperor's worshippers and servants are all "valued" based on how effective they are at killing. Thousands are ritually sacrificed to him daily, and uncountable numbers killed and genocided in his name. His most celebrated creations are super killing machines. The Emperor is a god of death, if not THE God of Death. The Imperium is the scythe.
>>41325282Are you implying necrons are humans from the future?
>>41325282Nurgle exists as a deified form of decay and Khorne exists as a deified form of violence
>>41324676NICE
>>41325621No, but the Necrones are objectively LESS evil than the Imperium. The Emperor is a death god, no better than Nurgle or Khorne, perhaps worse. His "children" and the poster-boys of the game are literally called "The Angels of Death" What playable faction in the game is responsible for more slaughter than the Imperium?
>>41325621Pre-5th edition is more than willing to imply that the Necrons intentionally modified the human genome to create blanks before going to sleep, but no they're two separate species
>>41316425>handsome golden locked glorious looking aryan who is tall and covered in ornate armor >is actually an incredible piece of shit who's flawed policies doomed everyone yes this would be the god of /pol/

>>41326699>golden locked glorious looking aryanhey mongoloid, unless they changed the lore again, the Emperor has jet black hair and was born in ancient Anatolia.
>>41326871>>41326859>>41326718>there is an entire dimension that reflects the behavior of our dimension with weird dream logic >war makes it more violent>wage war on everything even remotely not human forever GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>41327437The Emperor was so xenophobic because he saw how humanities alien allies turned on humanity when we collapsed at the end of the dark age of technology. It is theorized that the Emperor was on a time limit, most likely because otherwise the Orcs would grow too large and take over the theory.
>>41327456over the galaxy*
>>41316425I was reading a lot into W40k lore recently and a lot of synchronicities tend to pop up, I'm sure some of it at least is based on hidden occult systems of belief.
>>41327456the Emperor’s paranoia doomed humanity more than it saved it. Every justification people give for his “necessary xenophobia” ignores the fact that his own actions made those nightmares self-fulfilling. He preached unity, then built an empire on genocide and forced compliance. He also took away religion, which proved to be an incredibly bad idea, an idea so bad that it literally is arguably the single thing that secured his downfall. There is also the fact that he, uh, failed.
>>41327456>he Emperor was so xenophobic because he saw how humanities alien allies turned on humanity when we collapsed at the end of the dark age of technology.this does not change the fact that he built a galaxy spanning empire that functioned as a hammer that constantly smacked a thing that gets worse every time you smack it with a hammer.
>>41327504>>41327519It's ok. I am more of a chaos supporter myself. I just think that the Emperor had a good chance of suceeding if some things went slightly different (mainly Magnus not smashing the human webway) or making Lion El'Jonson the warmaster or something.
>>41327456>>41327519also, he built an empire that only works if the emperor is alive, an empire that if lead by anyone besides the emperor would instantly collapse into a totalitarian hellworld, and then he proceeded to hand steroids to the only thing that could kill him
