I heard that is because of endorphin, the thing that is released during orgasms and makes you feel good then sleepy, it's also released when you die or almost die.

(My only own near death experience sucked, everything went black and I could still ear sounds but as if coming from far away with a reverb, then I just "fell asleep".)
