I no longer fear death, but crave it. I cannot wait for it to happen. I cannot wait to collapse from a stroke or heart attack, or for a doctor to say I have cancer. I will smile and be full of joy in front of such a doctor. Until then, the days drag by as I am forced to live (because suicide might result in a negative afterlife). Death brings you to the real world, this one is false.

People always say this shit and then when they are in a deadly situation start praying and fearing.

bro chill out your satchitananda

Some of you are deeply, deeply, in death denial, in fear of death. You keep it in the back of your mind, suppressed and you constantly do activities all to avoid thoughts of death:

>The theory that all activity is to avoid thoughts of death is called Terror Management Theory (TMT), developed by psychologists Jeff Greenberg, Sheldon Solomon, and Tom Pyszczynski. It suggests that humans are unique in their awareness of death and their fear of it, which drives them to find a sense of meaning, value, and "symbolic immortality" to manage this anxiety.

You say "I don't have to worry about it until I'm older and actually get sick with a disease." You need to correct this and learn to love death. Research NDEs, watch NDE interviews on YouTube. Meditate.

Find God and create a relationship with Him. He wants a relationship with you, and if you don't already have a relationship with him, you need to try. God doesn't come to those who whisper is name, or examine God with the scientific method. He comes to those with an open heart only. Would you want to be friends with someone who immediately starts recording you with a video recorder to "prove" you exist? Of course not, you would find such a person INSINCERE. Only the pure of heart will find God.

man he is so happy to see that skeleton look at his eyes and that big smile and those raised eyebrows, truly this man is enlightened

In short, face death now while you are healthy rather than wait to try to face it when you are sick. Meditate on death, think about death, watch NDE interviews. The latter really helped me, something will eventually just click about death once you see enough NDE interviews.

ehh, old people do this shit all the time. They just say 'aight, I'm leaving' and kick the bucket.

in NDE each person has an hallucination that matches their cultural dogma, it's hard to take it seriously
>>
My only fear involving death is fucking up and getting forcibly reincarnated and having to do this again. This is an absolutely shitty and poorly run reality. 1/10 do not recommend.

Same. Even if it's just eternal nothingness after I die, that would be an improvement over this place

Hope go nice place when I die. Peaceful place.
Hope friends and family there.
If cease to exist, acceptable I guess.
Already almost die and come back, several times.
Not really need special reward or special punishment...

If this is true then why is death such a scary concept to many people of all walks of life?
If it's a 24/7 party then why fear it? What is the point of life is death is such a paradise?

>If this is true then why is death such a scary concept to many people of all walks of life?
Same reason why children throw a fit when separated from the parents.
>If it's a 24/7 party then why fear it?
It wasn't viewed as a 24/7 party, in ancient times, it was a shitty place you went to after you died. Unless you were favored by the gods in some way.
>What is the point of life is death is such a paradise?
Philosophy, I guess.

>I no longer fear death, but crave it. I cannot wait for it to happen.
What is commonly called "death" is actually the liberation from the illusion of death. For death is not a single event but an ongoing process of decay (entropy) that is always underway -- or so it would appear. The truth is that all being is immortal and eternal.

>So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

I would feel some fear, but would welcome oblivion with open arms. Really thinking of this situation, yes I would feel fear. Denying that would be stupid - the fear keeps us alive and away from thinking about this for too long.
But I know there is more beyond, better shit beyond than this slave education reality, so I embrace it with a tear in the eyes and a smile on my face, knowing nothing from this world comes with me.

what the wise mean by death is something you can find in your deepest fears.
the stronger you're averse to something, the closer you should look into it to find what death is.
if you think you don't fear death, but still feel attachment or aversion to some things, you just don't have a clue what death means.
>>
>>41348183
Terrible logic, people don't fear death, the fear dying incorrectly.
>>
honestly part of me wants to have some kind of crazy or interesting death.

A lot of people say
>I don't want to know I died, I want an instant death
That's literally my worst fear, getting shot in the back of my head and losing all my memories instantly. That's fucking lame.
If you only get to die once per consciousness, might as well experience something interesting.
Getting tied to a post and shot like three times in the torso and then very slowly bleeding out while looking at the sky seems like the best way to go for me personally.
>I've always wondered what getting shot feels like (I know it's painful duh, I mean the other sensations.)
>I want at least a few minutes to process my dying and experience it.
>Also firing squads are kino as fuck when preformed correctly.

Obviously I want to live as long as possible, but I know death is coming for me and most likely I won't get the death I want.
Maybe if I make it past 90+ I'll ask one of my family members or a friend to shoot me.
>>
>>41348401
death is the end of time for chasing cravings, it's when you're forcibly parted from all of your possessions, you lose ability to revisit memories, the chance to leave some mark on the world, see (grand)children grow up.
lots of reasons for a regular dude to feel terrified and violently reject their life ending.

I really don't want to die, I'm not ready for it. However, if some terrible illness did befall me that meant I'd have to spend my final moments, potentially months or years, in agony then I think I'd top myself with some strong sleeping pills and heroin after making sure all my affairs were in order. I quite regularly have dreams where I'm dying too and they're awful. I wake up feeling terrible all day when it happens.
>>
I can't wait for it. Anything is better than this world.
>>
>>41339427
My life has gotten so bad that death probably is the better option, but I'm held back by the fear of surviving as a cripple and the possibility of an even worse afterlife. That being said, if I had access to "safe" euthanasia and it was guaranteed that the self is annihilated after death, I'd take it in a heartbeat.
>>
Nope, this thread can't die.
>>
>>41355392
Das right.
>>
We establish death when we are born.
When you as a spirit which is eternal inhabit a body which is temporal, you entered the world of death and decay. Now you have to go through this “tunnel” of what we call life to get back to the other side
>>
Have nearly died several times already. Something keeps me here. Despite often desiring death, I live. Despite being mostly opposed to religion, and cynical about spirituality, I am alive.
Have had moments of intense joy, have had moments of pure raw terror.
Dont do drugs.
>>
>>41339427
I resonate with this deeply. Pretty much everything talks of an afterlife of some kind and they all seem so appealing. Even suffering in hell seems nice as I'll be repenting and learning. I feel like all I do in life is just pass the day, all the things I want are so far our of reach from a materialistic perspective. I just want to be free, like a ghost wandering wherever I want with no burdens. I don't think suicide creates a negative impact but man I wish dying wasn't so painful. I'm afraid of failing a suicide and being in pain and agony whilst still alive more then anything. Why can't I just switch my heart off in my sleep with my own will?

or else?

That's because you can only perceive/retell through your unique conditioning. The same way that one's canvas of thinking can only be filled with the language they were taught, you can only speak of death (other-worldly /indescribable) through the scope of your culture.

when you want or welcome death, it eludes you. isn't it strange? look at this recent death, a former athlete, age 41, father of 2-3 children. he's only a few years older than me, already won at life and is retired. but he died due to a genetic kidney disorder. he reached out and despite his access to a huge network of "nfl fans" no one could save him. despite his success and access, as well as assumed wealth, he ultimately died. meanwhile there's a bum on my street who is much older, is a raving lunatic, and he's still alive and healthy. or me, i'm not much younger than him, only by a few years, i also drank a lot due to depression, and i'm still alive.
>>
each of us are meant to live a certain life, maybe until age 25, or 46, or 88, whatever. the "life script". you can change if obviously by feeling intense self hatred and going the kms route. or you can just not care like OP and not fear it, which may lead to higher risk-taking behavior. also keep in mind there are ppl who attempt sui and fail at it (lulz) and end up in an even worse state (brain damage, for example). if your life sucks right now you have to either just make small and big changes, or just live with it and play it out.
