I came across a similar retard, only IRL. Said he could astral project. I was quizzing him on it and eventually he tangled himself in his own web, he said he could see what is actually happening when he leaves his body at that point in time, like what other people are doing. He could go see what his neighbors were doing or even people halfway across the world.
I capitalized on this and challenged him to come to my place in his astral travels and observe something that I'd write down in my room and then when I see him next, he can tell me what I wrote.
Simple enough, right?
Well to nobody's surprise, he couldn't do it. Kept making excuses like 'oh I got sidetracked by doing all this other cu-raaaazy stuff and I forgot to go check' and a whole bunch of other garbage until I just eventually stopped asking about it.

Alright, on a more seriousness note, I think that eventually people who keep trying stuff like Astral Projecting eventually get so tired of trying and having nothing happen (or confusing it for lucid dreaming) that they need to have some results for all the time they've put into doing it, they can't come away empty handed, so they just lie to others and in some situations even to themselves.

Throughout my life I've tried many weird /x/ related things and nothing has ever really worked and yes I too have had that same feeling of wanting said thing to work so bad that I enter into a tug of war with myself wondering if I should just lie to myself that it worked, but I always manage to stick with the truth in the end.

I've tried Astral Projecting. Did the Gateway tapes, got to a certain point and then it was just a dead end with no further progress.
I have however lucid dreamed, but not intentionally. Lucid dreaming I can believe, Astral Projecting I can't.
1. I couldn't do it. If I can't do it I don't see why anybody else can.
2. Not a single person who has Astral Projected can prove it in any way.
3. The people who do claim they can do it don't ever report back any revolutionary new info. Nothing they say holds any wisdom, nothing new to be gleaned from anything they say. You'd think that somebody that could AP would have some mindblowing things to say but nope, they've got nothing.
