Both methods can make it harder or easier, fewer people knowing or more, it just depends. The trick is being able to influence how many people you must reach and how; telepathic communication from unconscious to unconscious across infinite beyond infinite space and beyond is easy, talking face-to-face with each and every being alive and dead the normal way without occult powers would make something you're trying to do impossible.
