I was on the plane when this happened. I have a Jar Jar mask that I wear in public sometimes as a joke and decided to put it on on the plane. Some people were freaked out by it initially but everyone with the exception of her realized either immediately or after a few seconds that it was a mask. Some thought it was kind of funny, others were indifferent. But she just couldn't get over it and started freaking out. I could have just taken the mask off to prove to her that I was real, but I was so bemused by her reaction that I kind of wanted to let it play out. Why would you say something is "not real" if you encountered something terrifying in real life? I can't think of any instance where I'd see something - no matter how much it may clash with what I've previously known - and think it isn't real. That's like doubting your own cognition. If it's not real then what's the problem? It seems like she was basically saying, "I'm having a delusion" but also getting really upset about it for some reason.
