I have a pretty specific view on supernatural and superantual-ish stuff (not just "it's all in your mind", no), but I can relate to you.
I'm learning to let "my" spirits in and connected, and some intermediate problems that arise are pretty much what you had and have (if not so drastic).

Basically, I think that spirits (including humans, IMO everything applicable to spirits applies to *all* spirits, including human ones) "bleed" (or maybe the word is 'blend', or 'diffuse') into each other as they interact.
Always. But speed varies. They slowly blend memories, skills, body control (physical and immaterial). The boundaries between spirits also slowly blend and become fuzzy (non-exact).
So I think one shouldn't try to exorcise anyone, he'll exorcise some (likely significant) piece of himself too.
(Nor I think it is possible to exorcise a spirit permanently, as spirits (and spirit-pieces) to some extent always want to become whole and connected again, so they will return eventually.)

How sure you are your spirits are (and always will be) demons?
(IMO there can't be objectively evil spirits, nor permanently subjectively evil ones.)

On your place I'd try to figure out what exactly is (or feels) wrong (both for you and for the spirits).
Why can't you keep things as they are (in general)?
(I mean, I'd give quite a lot to get this level of connection, even if it took some (maybe a lot, for me) work to make this not-painful in daily life.)
