Evil here is not a substance, but a distortion of the Good, an inversion of the ontological order. Truman's exit is, thus, a hierophany: the concrete rupture with the cycle of fallen manifestation and the return to the solar Principle, confirming that the Good remains as the ultimate foundation of all being. The film thus becomes a disguised initiation, proclaiming in the midst of the media age the possibility of liberation.

I watched this movie years ago as a simple piece of entertainment but now that I'm thinking it is filled with hidden clues. One thing that strikes me is how Truman was programmed with the fear of water so that he doesn't escape.Gonna go and watch it again
