It's that time again, /x/.Put on your trench-coats and Fedoras and light up a cigarette in a dimly-lit office with a shot glass of fine liquor. It’s time for a creepy unsolved crimes thread.Unexplained disappearances. Perpetrators vanishing without a trace. “Suspicious” suicides. Bizarre, ritualized murders and messages from an anonymous killer. Indecipherable pieces of evidence. Incomprehensible acts of theft and terrorism. Horrific acts of violence with no apparent motive. Inexplicable or even supernatural elements to crime that defy conventional understanding. Tales of corrupt officials and conspiracies, tampering with evidence and suppressing the truth. Abduction, torture, ritual-murder, human-trafficking, secret societies and more.Rookie Mode: Post a Wikipedia link.Veteran Mode: Post a Wikipedia link AND a green-text summary in this thread that explains why the crime/event is so creepy, and inspires people to go and read the Wiki article. As per usual, I’ll post some great copy-pasta from the previous iterations of this thread to get things started, and to keep this thread alive if things get slow.Optional Background Music for this Thread:For a mysterious, Noir-style vibe:https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAkWTMqRz-e-HlU61r6NBG0YMXQjRexS0For an eerie, atmospheric and legitimately threatening vibe:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkiEIckyTqEFor a creepy, spine-tingling vibe from an appropriate blast from your past:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2d6T5G2rrY

>Article about an altar of the Union Tepito, CDMX/mexico df city. in an underground tunnel system. a guy who knows quimbanda said the altar is BS and a mish-mash of paleria, vodoun, quimbanda etc -but it has 42 unidentified human skulls and they're real. I read in one article they had a human fetus\unborn baby in a jar- but can't find photographic evidence of that one https://nypost.com/2019/10/29/mexican-authorities-find-over-40-skulls-at-altar-in-den-of-suspected-drug-traffickers/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Hedviga_Golik>in 1966, croatian woman pours herself tea, sits down to watch TV>fucking dies>cops don't discover her until 2008This isn't really a crime but it haunts me. No one knew what had happened to her for 42 years.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibadan_forest_of_horror>A local taxi driver goes missing and his friends create a makeshift search party and investigate a forest.>Instead of finding their friend, they find an abandoned school (or factory) that have the remnants of a hellish torture/murder, ritual killing and human trafficking.>23 survivors were rescued.>Numerous body parts, rotting corpses and personal artifacts were found.>The perpetrators were never found - although local politicians and ritualists were suspects.>Possible connections to top government officials and notable politicians in the state.>Original taxi driver never found.>Area bulldozed and a school built on top of it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mungyeong_crucifixion_case> On May 1, 2011, the body of Kim Jun-bong, a 58-year-old taxi driver, was discovered crucified in an abandoned stone quarry on Mount Dundeok in Gaeun, Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province. After extensive investigation, the death was ruled a suicide.

>>41405238https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Asha_Degree>Lazier than OP, so pls excuse shitty writeup>Frankly, there are too many weird details to greentext anyway. It'd just become the article>Anyway, little girl leaves home in the middle of the night during an intense thunderstorm>Had packed bag with her, was seen by a few cars>Trucker sees little girl walking down road in absolute downpour and tries to stop and help her>She disappears into the woods on the side of the road>He circles back>Same deal>Case discussion revolves around tiny details because they are numerous>What is distinctly interesting about the case to me, and the most /x/ adjacent part I guess, is that Aysha was known to be absolutely terrified of thunderstorms>So this behavior wasn't something she just chose to do, she was either scared out or lured out>What could possibly compel a well behaved and intelligent little girl who was afraid of thunderstorms to be outside -avoiding others trying to provide assistance- in the dark night?
>>41405437Holy shit this is really creepy, good find anon.>What is distinctly interesting about the case to me, and the most /x/ adjacent part I guess, is that Aysha was known to be absolutely terrified of thunderstormsNOPE NOPE NOPE
>>41405268Holy FUCK this one is actually crazy and we could probably have at least 2 consecutive good threads on it alone
>>41405450Her backpack was later found wrapped in plastic when somebody dug nearby for construction. For a reason I can't explain, Ive thought about her more than any other crime victim I've ever read about.>Rest in peace, little one.
how could someone unsole someone else? its just so wrong...
>>41405458I've posted it every thread for the past 5-6 iterations because it's that fucking terrifying. Note they only started the search because the taxi driver gave frantic texts to his friends about being taken to a dilapidated building in the forest. Sadly they never found him, or even any remains. No trace. They think the people were being kept there as "living organ banks". They'd hack off body parts, and if the person seemed likely to survive, they'd chain them up for future body part pieces.>>41405469Yeah, it's really sad. I hope someday the family gets closure.
>>41405238So comfy.
>>41405520What astounds me the most about that one is the lack of follow up. That makes me believe their government and police are either in on it or paid off SO heavily that they might as well be. The accounts of the victims were never used to put together any meaningful case or investigation, as far as I can tell. Accusing a government of ritualistic cannibalism used to be a huge and wild accusation but here its somewhat cultural in addition to that. Nigeria is WILDLY superstitious in their beliefs even compared to other groups in their area of the world. This type of ritualistic behavior being part of the culture of opulence there isn't exactly shocking. If this happened in ANY other country (or if their own police took this seriously AT ALL and reached out to international law enforcement agencies for help investigating), it would be a massive fucking incident with constant follow up until either an actual answer was found or a full coverup was forced. Here it just seemed to be>"Actual, unironic house of ACTUAL horrors found. Numerous crimes piling up such that they can't even begin to be solved">*Crickets*
>>41405295Honestly, the Korean glownigger cope explanation is somewhat believable up until >...all physical evidence collected from the scene pointed to Kim acting alone. Investigators found no traces of accomplice involvement.Bull. Fucking. Shit. Sure, it's theoretically possible that somebody acting alone in a suicide event could have done this alone. They wouldn't have, though. Such a dramatic fucking suicide would surely involve at least one other person somehow. In other words, even IF this was a suicide there's something very fucky about it.
>>41405637And like, what kind of person fucking crucifies themselves? Who drills holes in their hands so they can shove them onto nails?Something is really suspicious about it
>>41405702Additionally kek, since when does 1st world country crime investigation conclude>It was theoretically possible and so therefore it was definitely what happened. Case closed. The only time that ever "flies" is during a coverup of some sort. Sometimes coverups themselves are boring and mundane, like financially corrupt judges or whatever, but that's the pattern nonetheless.
Something just occurred to me. We know there are a shitton of ARGs and internet mysteries. We know that some serial killers are obsessed with leaving clue about their murders. It is entirely possible--frankly, I'd say it's LIKELY--that at least one serial killer has recorded videos of their stalkings, photographs of their victims before the murders, etc., and posted them all online and we will just never know until when (if!) they're caught. I mean, how would we ever know?
>>41405437>>41405469There's an update on this case.https://www.wbtv.com/2025/08/05/asha-degrees-35th-birthday-where-case-missing-shelby-girl-stands-decades-later/There's a possible connection--DNA from the backpack matches a family nearby. The Dedmons.
>>41405268>>Area bulldozed and a school built on top of it.Nigga these mfs hate children or something?
>>41407249Addendum: it's looking more and more like it really was just a stupid vehicular manslaughter, a random and pointless death that they've covered up for 25 years. The daughters of the dad (who may have hit her, and is still alive but old and sickly) gave a bunch of highly suspicious texts which have been warrant'd:>Caple to Foster: They think it’s our shirt. It’s not her shirt>Caple to Foster: Her mom said it wasn’t hers>Caple to Foster: I don’t remember that shirt. I’m scared though. Dad is probably going to be a huge suspectWe will probably never know why Asha Degree left her home, but it seems that her death was just a hit-and-run and her disappearance was hiding it. I really hope they find her remains, so the family can have some peace.
>>41405702>what kind of person fucking crucifies themselves?Lmao non-Western Christianity gets seriously weird sometimes. Still don't think it was a suicide but still
bump
