>Christian fren says she doesn't believe in ghosts
Christian fren probably goes to church for the pancakes and free weekly no-guilt pass
>>41455266Most christians I have met in my life always scoff at ghosts and whatnot. Its hilarious.
>>41455212>>41455266>>41455288It must be an odd form of cognitive dissonance. I don't blame anyone for being a skeptic on any one thing in isolation whether it's ghosts, cryptids, UFOs, or religion. I also don't begrudge anyone for being religious or believing in any of those things. To believe in what Christianity teaches while being completely skeptical of anything else paranormal is just being obtuse though. That's literally the worst of both worlds when it comes to faith and skepticism.
>>41455377I believe in devils(not to be confused with demons) angels and to a lesser extent souls.Who's to say what i call a demon or a devil is not what you call a ghost?

>>41455212>>Christian fren says she doesn't believe in ghostsuh? but the holy ghost is well, is your fren retarded or something?
the dead stay in the ground until the day of judgementghosts exist as psychological phenomena
>>41455867well she is a christian..
>>41455212why would Christians believe in ghosts? They believe people go to heaven or hell when they die, they don't believe people don't get to stick around as ghosts
>>41458073*they don't believe people get to stick around as ghosts, sorry for the typo
>anti-christian thread #9236854251
>>41455579Nobody says that, because you're not important, anon.In the grand scheme of things, you're just a fool who thinks he's thinking.
>>41455212A christian must believe in ghosts, because Jesus Christ and Holy Ghost are the same.
>>41455212Many Christians don't believe in ghosts. They believe, when you die, you go to Heaven or Hell and that's just where you are. Some go a step further and believe the soul goes dormant until the end of the world, after which the person is resurrected and they are placed in one of those two states. Anything encountered here on earth is demonic.Catholics have room for ghosts with Purgatory, but even with that it's to be assumed that any such apparitions might be demonic.
>cries persecution
>>41455377What’s a ghost to an anointed one? What is any other type of spirit? All submit, through lies and violence
No such things as ghosts. Its just demons pretending to be them 2bh.
>>41458137How would Catholics believing in purgatory allow for a belief in ghosts? Souls in purgatory are not roaming around on earth.
>>41458189I meant in a speculative nature - there are stories of apparitions from purgatory asking people for their prayers. I suppose that could be considered a "ghost" so I was using it to keep the door open. But what you said is largely considered correct.
>>41458228I've never heard of that before. I had known of prayers for the suffering in purgatory, but never apparitions asking for help. It does seem like that could be seen as a ghost
>>41458270This used to be one of my favorite books years ago. It's been a good 25 years or so but I think I recall some stories like that in there. It does make sense if you think about it, at least from a Catholic point of view. God wants people to pray for the dead and therefore might allow people to appear to ask for prayers so as to spread tales that encourage it.But I suppose it's not a ghost in the traditional sense, haunting a place. That's usually seen as potentially demonic although I suppose there could be purgatorial reasons for allowing it.
>>41458307thank you for the book recommendation, I'll check it out.

>>41455212Ask her who/what came up out of the ground to rebuke King Saul if it wasn't the ghost of Samuel. I once had this discussion with someone, and he said, "Oh it was a demon!" To which I responded, "So then why doesn't the Old Testament say that a demon masquerading as Samuel came up out of the ground?" If it was actually a demon, then the Bible itself is wrong. If it was not a demon, then it was in fact the spirit of Samuel. And what is a spirit of a human being that is not in the afterlife but is present on Earth? Ask your question friend that.1st book of Samuel, chapter 28. Picrel.
