If Noah or someone else had to take all the animals on an arc so they wouldn't go extinct then why did new world explorers find animals on the new world? How did the animals get there?

Don't give me this bullshit about ice age and raising sea levels. That was over 12000 years ago and this story supposedly happened around 6. It never happened.

Explain how does a Jaguar makes it from ancient middle east to the jungles of central and south America?

Wouldn't all the animals babies end up inbred and deformed if he only took two of each animal too?

The flood was never a myth. It happens every 6000 years when the poles shift their orientations.
Next one will be after 2040.

Because it's bullshit

Jewish schizophrenics just stole religion and culture from the surrounding civilizations and pretended they came up with it

The bible was even polytheistic in the old testament and didn't have heaven/hell

It's a metaphor for baptism -- the cleansing of sin from the soul.
>>
>>41494867
This is the same as saying "THE ODYSSEY DEBOONKED", if all you got out of reading Genesis was that it didn't happen in a literal sense you need to read it again. This is why reddit atheists aren't to be taken seriously, they think they're so enlightened for discovering basic things, as if people haven't been analyzing the bible for literally thousands of years. You're just as close-minded as American evangelist christians, you're cut from the same cloth. Your atheism is just rebellion from your parents. Be fucking for real and get a copy of the NRSV instead of being a smug cunt.

The word Elohim is an exception to the rule that words ending in im are plural. By and large, this is true in Hebrew but there are exceptions. Such as elohim.

Wow anon it's almost as if the bible was written across centuries by people with different beliefs and biases and doesn't have one single author.

I just want to add I find this board to be so feminine. The criticism here isn't intellectual it's all vibes based. People here base their worldview according to their feelings and emotions rather than studying and looking at facts. It's so rare that there's a good post on here I wonder why I even visit.

He's right though. They wrote the OT during the "captivity" in Babylon (a "captivity" that they chose to stay in after they were freed btw) by using the Babylonian libraries.
Seems you need to take your own advice.

I don't think it was all animals on earth or that it was a global flood. Since it was very early on in humanity, humans wouldn't have been all over the earth, and the flood only really would have had to have been continental, thus you wouldn't need all animals across the earth for it.
Interestingly scholars in islam (even classical scholars) actually debated over whether the flood was global or local, idk if the same debate existed in christianity among jews or christians.

the talmud is pretty big so I imagine maybe at least one person may have suggested this at one point

btw I also think you're ignoring the significance of the flood legend and the fact that it exists in a very large number of cultures all across the earth. The story almost always seems to follow the same pattern of there being too much bad, animals on a boat with usually one good person being warned by god, etc.
I don't think that's a coincidence. The shared flood legend to me points to a real event in human history that was passed on orally before it was written down by the israelites in their canon.
Even the concept of a garden for example with the first humans on it predates the bible and I don't think that's a coincidence either. It exists in a variety of cultures even if it's not as widespread as the flood. You can even see the hallmarks of a tree of knowledge, the first sin, etc.

Been looking into how Babylong, Syrian, Greek, and Roman culture influenced judaism. Turns out to cope with God allowing such evil like the temple being gone they adapted the Zoroastrian god, angramiyu. Before that Satan was always a servant of God.
>>
>>41496507
>that it exists in a very large number of cultures all across the earth.
yeah but if the earth flooded and only noah had animals how did north and south America have animal populations when the settlers arrived? Are you suggesting an American noah? lmao.

If you are talking about gilgamish turns out the god was a liar. https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news/trickster-god-used-fake-news-in-babylonian-noah-story
> “Ea tricks humanity by spreading fake news. He tells the Babylonian Noah, known as Uta–napishti, to promise his people that food will rain from the sky if they help him build the ark. What the people don’t realise is that Ea’s nine-line message is a trick: it is a sequence of sounds that can be understood in radically different ways, like English ‘ice cream’ and ‘I scream’.
>“While Ea’s message seems to promise a rain of food, its hidden meaning warns of the Flood. Once the ark is built, Uta–napishti and his family clamber aboard and survive with a menagerie of animals. Everyone else drowns. With this early episode, set in mythological time, the manipulation of information and language has begun. It may be the earliest ever example of fake news.”
>>
>>41496771
>yeah but if the earth flooded and only noah had animals how did north and south America have animal populations when the settlers arrived? Are you suggesting an American noah? lmao.
Animals already existed on earth everywhere before adam and eve, noah and his people would have just had the animals available to them that they were used to and that's what they had to save. The flood was whatever small part of the earth humanity occupied at that time, afterwards when humans moved outwards and expanded, they still kept these oral stories which got changed/had things added on to them with time (including stories like the garden)
Also unironically there's nothing wrong with an american noah lol. I'm speaking islamically again, but it was debated among classical scholars where adam and eve even arrived on earth since it was never specified. Most just suggested the middle east but some also suggested they landed around the subcontinent. Theoretically you could subscribe to africa as well if you want to believe the out of africa theory. To my knowledge jews believe the same thing of the landing site being unknown. Most say the middle east since that's where these biblical figures tend to be but there's no actual confirmation on where noah was located either textually.
>If you are talking about gilgamish turns out the god was a liar.
yeah though he's supposed to be lying for a good reason. There's other gods that don't want to warn humanity and this is his way of double speak to help out the noah figure.
funnily enough the lying part doesn't appear in the even earlier version of this story (the Sumerian one). In that one the god is honest and direct.

The Hebrew word for Earth (Strongs's #776: 'erets) can mean simply land. It does not imply that the entire world was flooded, but rather the flood was a punishment for the Adamites that had transgressed God's only given law at the time of 'kind after kind' (no race-mixing)

here's some short summaries of some flood myths, you can see a lot of the same motifs in completely disconnected cultures.
Even in a lot of these stories, the flood wasn't always global.

It's like you never read Genesis. It says that the Ark landed on mount Ararat, which was part of Armenia and is considered the Caucasus, hence white man is called Caucasoid because he originates from there by his ancestry to Noah. The garden of Eden is said to have the Euphrat, Tigris, Pishon and Gihon flowing out of it, it is theorized that the latter two are the Nile and Ganges, and the former two exist until today. So where the Garden Eden was located, it must have been in the cradle of civilization around ancient Sumer. You people are so retarded and have the info spelled out to you and still make shit up. You are an embarrassment.

you're just going off topic now because you have nothing intelligent to say.
Islam contains a flood myth and works a lot with both christian and jewish traditions of it.
it's funny though the hadith is left without a grading in your image and just quotes someone as if that's how hadith gradings work and what muslims believe. This is like me quoting the gospel of judas to a catholic and pretending judas wrote it. There's a sahih variation of this event but it's basically just the prophet preaching to jinn. The word mount is used but in arabic but that has nothing to do with a sexual encounter, rather a gathering/pressing of people for something urgent. This event is also covered in the quran, once again with nothing sexual. My only response to off-topic nonsense though, not responding further.
>>41496979
The landing location of the ark and noah's textually location are two different things.
> So where the Garden Eden was located, it must have been in the cradle of civilization around ancient Sumer
this is only true if you believe jews just took the garden myth from the people around them and the people around them just made it up for their local culture.
Biblical scholars have had different opinions on what the location of the garden was, you'll find the same opinion in the talmud.

btw a lot of jews didn't even believe the garden was an actual place on earth but rather somewhere in the heavens, it's described as more of a spiritual realm rather than a physical location on earth.
This is actually the opinion muslims ascribe to as well.

“From every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind you shall bring into the ark”

God is not saying noah brought every single animal in existence just one of each kind.
and he specified clean animals so likely the edible ones. bugs and fish would not need to be brought.

there is also no reason to assume that god didn’t create more animals or that noahs sons did not find america eventually and bring animals with them that repopulated changed etc.

the story of evolution is the exact same. one big pool of water and one cell >>41496979

Adam and eve were black. and preflood humans too. noah was black and his sons spread out across the world and its climates causing adaptations in their populations leading to different races

this actually makes alot of sense

It happened over 120000 years ago. Time and space (including age of geology) shift according to the collective consciousnesses of the world, hence why a lot of pre-Columbian north and south american archeology doesn't seem to line up with any comprehensible timeline, and why native tribes have genetic memories going back much longer than they have actually been here.
