Several times I have seen Freemasonry described as a cargo cult. What then is it a cargo cult of?

A lot of things live inside Freemasonry for various reasons and lengths of time.
According to this book here, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn lived inside Freemasonry for a number of years to avoid religious persecution in both Europe and North America for not being proper Catholics or Protestants respectively. They split back out when there was less danger of being burnt at the stake.

That doesnt answer my question though. I don't mean this in a condescending way, are you familiar with the concept of cargo cults?
>>

I apparently am not kek. I really did assume you meant
>Cult inside which other things are stored
On that basis I just meant that everybody knows they're weird and secretive so if you're a part of something weird and secretive that is presently under threat, within the freemasons can be a common way to conceal what you're up to. You can be secretive, that will be expected, and can write off any other oddities as "mason stuff you wouldn't understand"
My apologies, though, because that was indeed assumptive.
For anybody else as silly and assumptive as me, here's the real definition of Cargo Cult
>followers believe that material wealth, or "cargo," will be delivered to them through spiritual means
>>
>>41517541
Whoever said that doesn't know what a "Cargo Cult" is considering it has no hard dogma and it's just an attempt to syncretize Indo-European mythologies into a unified philosophy. Cargo Cults on the other hand are kinda what happens when ignorance lets dogma sliders get cranked to 11 with no underlying philosophy or structure.

A cargo cult is basically people who interpret beings with far greater technological advancement than them as gods/godlike, and they misinterpret their tech and symbols and form a religion or other system around them. Pacific islanders during and after ww2 would make mock airstrips and wooden/wicker airplanes and radar dishes, not understanding what they're copying and viewing it as ritual.

Cargo cult of high-level jew rituals, as in manifesting the presence of entities who grant certain physical attributes in exchange of something we still don't know for sure, because we don't know if the things done are for their request or to manifest them to begin with.

My guess is to cause "loosh" reserves to stay topped off hence all the blatant rage bait accelerationism

no they're for having a specific level of heavy mteal particulate in the atmosphere at all times it's got to do with time reversal mirrors (no not actually rewinding time mirrors its a physics term look it up)

It partially does.
first
cargo cults are just people convinced by random reinforcement, and now the thing they want has stopped happening, so they try building idols and making volcano sacrifices etc
i.e. Guam no longer getting cargo planes full of 1st world goods.
So they build idols of planes and runways for planes to land, without understanding the higher powers at play, governments and global politics
Anyway
Anon's example,
>maybe Free Masonry keep some of the rituals? Adopt them for themselves? >What makes sense for their purpose.
That may partially answer your question
And, maybe Free Masonry is an amalgamation of beliefs and rituals many religions, over time, altogether now called Free Masonry
>>
ok sirs, what exactly is a cargo cult?
>>
>>41520836
You see someone doing something real so you mimic their actions in a way that isn’t remotely similar to what they’re doing, but to the uninitiated may look very similar.

Comes from the tribes on islands in WWII would see cargo planes drop them supplies for soldiers and stuff, they thought it was gods, so they build giant planes from sticks to worship them. Their planes looked the same shape as the planes in the sky, but didn’t give them food, and couldn’t fly.

So if you see someone doing rituals, you could copy them, but you might not know what the fuck they were actually doing.
