What is the most paranormal thing you've experienced in the far north or the dead of winter? Call of the wendigo, howling on the wind? Snow blindness causing you to see things that aren't there?

The land beyond 66.5° north is sparse and inaccessible. It is, in many regards, closer to the surface of Mars than that of the rest of the Earth. Life barely clings on here, and yet it seems the stark emptiness and desolation continues to call us north, beyond all rational explanation. Despite needing to rely on ships, aircraft, and modern winterwear, we still push ourselves out there.
