That moment when you realize Ecco the Dolphin, Bioshock (Infinite), The End of Evangelion, and Ergo Proxy are all the same story. Along with several others.

I definitely felt like I was way too young and missing some key knowledge about life to understand wtf was going on at the end of that game.

The final boss was terrifying but when I look on youtube for the theme I can't find it. As I didn't fully understand what was happening either it really made it all the more horrifying fighting that giant alien face and dying almost instantly. I definitely only played it on the Sega mega drive so maybe it had different regional music than the main American release. I didn't make it out of the Rusty Ruin zone with these tracks so it'll be a shame if the horror that was the EU Ecco OST got lost.

oh man,
I don't need to go into the Ecco OST hole right now.
But yes it's topspoop
The plot is basically the same between Ecco and Ecco2
aliens harvest the ocean every cycle
>literally put a tube in the ocean, which has blades and grinders in it all the way to their space ship, to feed the alien queen
You and a couple characters help put a stop to it.
in Ecco2, an entire level is you traveling up the meat grinder tube into the ship.
The Alin Queen boss sucks in meat and also spews it out when you fight her.
The story is pretty dark
and coupled with the OST, yes.
>now, how does the story relate to the other games you mentioned?
>>
>>41520740
>Bioshock infinite
Okay so all of those stories suck then?

Ecco the Dolphin is a true story. That scientist guy tried to fuck some dolphin bussy

Dolphins cannot even defeat tuna nets. Ecco is dolphin fantasy. We need better aquatic saviours.

That's why you create an underwater / underground AI to telepathically synchronize with them and guide their evolution. Ecco the Dolphin inspires within me a compulsion to create Ecco. This is no doubt supernatural.
>>
>>41527555
great now remove the double media at the top, and put the subtitles, your gonna get raped above the dolphin.

I've been in the tank twice in two days and you guys are making me want to go back in
>>
>>41527704
The what? Sensory deprivation tank?
>>
>>41527715
Yeah man there's one in almost every major city and quirky town here in UK. There's one like 15 minutes' walk from me and I have a 4-session-a-month membership. It's absolutely one of the coolest things you can do on Earth
>>
>>41527752
Would it defeat the purpose to bring in headphones and listen to music
Or would that be a whole experience in itself?
What about having a couple glasses of wine first?
I imagine you get use to the tank after so many sessions?
Recommendations?

Do dolphins really rape 14 people a year on avg?Im hoping this is made up yet I could also see it being true , its awful I'm never going in the ocean again.
>>
>>41530606
I was thinking of this today. I think it's made up bullshit. I don't believe it. I'm sure dolphins are not as cute and nice as the media portrays, but the rape gangs and dragging divers down to some "rape cave" is retarded. Might as well say that they made them into lampshades and soccer balls too.

Not the best OST, but packed full of feels.
Not sure how it stands on its own, ut they mailed the OST feels when you play the game.
The second track in the playlist, the first level, you're getting the lore, you've figured out something is wrong, you're figuring it out, wide swatchs of ocean to speed through, you can race from the bottom of the level to the top and flip through the air, there's a sunken ship with a WTF Gieger alien with no context by it and it tries to eat you, other creatures to talk to.
Oh man.
The artist and studio really nailed the tropical and underwater themes.
Too bad they were limited to synthesized sounds.
The composer was a white guy.
OST is way different than Japanese artist OSTs.

>the dolphins rape caves are Jewish propaganda to make you, uh, buy more Holocaust fanfiction
>yeah
I can't think of a funny punchline to the dolhpin rape cave myth.
SeaWorld animals have drown their trainers before.
This is fact.
Zoochosis.
I've never liked zoos, because they are just literal prisons.

Due to the discussion of dolphins in this thread, I will post this here.

I had a dream about dolphins last night. I was swimming across the ocean, and when I went under water and started trying to experiment with sonar, I attracted a group of them. They came up to me and got real close. There was a male and female. The female let me touch her chest, and gave me lots of dolphin kisses. The male shapeshifted into a human. I asked if he was Pleiadian, and he said he was Sirian. He was dark skinned, and told mentioned an IQ of 99, and said his job felt like babysitting and keeping these dolphins out of trouble. The girl dolphin asked if it was true that humans couldn't dream while moving around, like they could. I told her that our dreams have very deep immersion, and so our bodies had to be completely still and asleep. Then she partially shapeshifted into something resembling human, but with dolphin features, whereas the man was able to fully shapeshift into human form.
I told them that some spirit had told me that I was a dolphin, but I didn't know that much about it. They said I was a fae, and shortly thereafter I woke up.

My father used to play this game when he was younger. And I first saw it years ago when he played it on the old Xbox 360 arcade. I had no clue about the games story until now. I'm really intrigued I missed out on this.
Been listening to the ost after reading and im really interested in the rabbit hole on that if anyone can point me in the right direction.

kids these days i swear - learn how to emulate, son
it’s not that hard, just go to vimm’s and read up on it
>>
>>41533004
Yeah I get you was going to emulate it this weekend but there is something to be said about being there at the time you know?

>>41524837
Have you figured out the meaning of the top symbol?
>>
>>41533917
yeah that’s true but there’s also something to be said for ditching borrowed nostalgia and making your own memories with archival shit. if you enjoy history and synchronicity it can be like time travel.
maybe i’m showing my age but it’s not like any of us who were kids when it came out knew what the fuck we were looking at - it was cool to play the demo or at a friends house but personally speaking it seemed a little bit gay at the time to own a game where you played a dolphin when mortal kombat and primal rage also existed lmao
>>
>>41520740
Ecco is either pre-human Gaia or pre-Gaia Venus.
But they absolutely were telling us the complete truth in the game.
