1.Retrograde orbit aligns within 5° of the ecliptic; probability 0.2%
2.July–Nov 2025: showed a true sunward jet (anti-tail), not a geometric illusion
3.Nucleus mass ≈106× 1I/Oumuamua and 103× 2I/Borisov, moving faster than both; probability <0.1%
4.Arrival timing placed it within tens of millions of km of Mars, Venus, Jupiter and hidden from Earth at perihelion; probability 0.005%
5.Gas plume: far more Ni than Fe (industrial-like Ni alloys) + Ni/CN ratio orders of magnitude above all comets incl. 2I/Borisov; probability <1%
6.Gas plume: only 4% water by mass (vs water-rich comets)
7.Extreme negative polarization, unprecedented; probability <1%
8.Arrival within 9° of the “Wow!” signal; probability 0.6%
9.Near perihelion: brightened faster than any comet and was bluer than the Sun
10.Sunward + anti-solar jets demand unrealistically large surface area to absorb enough sunlight for sublimation
11.Non-gravitational acceleration near perihelion implies ≥13% mass loss, yet imagery shows no breakup
12.Tightly collimated jets hold orientation across ~106 km in multiple solar directions despite measured rotation
13.Perihelion tuned trajectory to pass within 0.5% of Jupiter's Hill Radius

>What does this message mean?

Watch the brightness measurements of 3i ATLAS.

If it is on the assumed trajectory, we should see changes.

If it is on the orbit listed in this image, it's brightness will remain relatively constant.

So over the next 2 weeks, pay attention to brightness measurements.

Indeed. I added the lightcurve resource to the OP as well.

>13.Perihelion tuned trajectory to pass within 0.5% of Jupiter's Hill Radius
What the fuck is the Jupiter Hill Radius?
And yeah I've played KSP so I kinda understand orbital mechanics, but never heard of that term before.

Second, whats OP picture from?

>>41566030
that honestly sounds like bullshit, specially because we don't know about the object's rotation, the shine intensity can depend a whole lot on how the the object reflects from the sun, and assuming its constant is just dumb.
>>
>>41565952
what if it crashes into jupiter?
>>
>>41566114
> the shine intensity can depend a whole lot on how the the object reflects from the sun, and assuming its constant is just dumb.
We have a theoretical brightness curve kindly calculated for us at https://cobs.si/comet/2643/

If brightness is staying more or less constant, way above the theoretical curve, this thing ain't going to Jupiter

If telescopes keep on finding it at the angular coordinates of the trajectory to Jupiter, it's actually ambushing us by pretending it's going there, while closing the distance

>we don't know about the object's rotation
Of all the factors for changes in brightness rotation is the least relevant because it's cyclical. Yes, there are other factors but the sun is the largest factor. Inverse square law.

>What the fuck is the Jupiter Hill Radius?
It's the radius around an object where deceleration on a trajectory causes the object to enter orbit around that body first. A probe released from a spacecraft outside of the Hill Radius of Jupiter will first enter solar orbit then Jupiter's orbit if it decelerates constantly.

Shit, time travel companies must be doing interstellar diversity hiring and is staffed by glorpos.
>>
>>41566114
The non-grav acceleration at perihelion (which NASA later attributed to major off-gassing after their JLP tracking turned out to be off by 24 hours) was just enough to course correct 3i's orbit so that it comes within the specific sweet zone close enough to Jupiter to be affected by Jupiter's gravitational field. This coincidence is extraordinary and as A. Loeb points out creates a perfect situation for releasing probes to Jupiter --which many consider the most logical terraforming planet of interest in our solar system.

You know what.

I'd wager that there is a stable portion at the front, dragging/attached to a portion that is rotating, by some type of axel, perhaps a massive EMF force axel.

This ship, uses an engineered and produced fuel core, that big ass ball of alloy behind it, that shits out industrialized nickel, as it rotates in plasma.

So there's a massive rotating nickel ball, attached to a ship portion, via an unknown mechanism.

I want a chunk of the nickel ball.

We need to know what that fuel core is made of, the bulk of this thing is that fuel core.

It's not only the "not found in nature" part. That thing is highly chemically unstable

If 3I/ATLAS were a comet hanging around for billions of years, it would not have output chemically unstable stuff, because by now it would have reached thermodynamic balance with the environment

That compound being highly unstable means NASA is absolutely lying about this thing being billions of years old

And everyone who took physical chemistry classes in college knows that

Good on you for that. I'm not sure exactly how many years ago you started posting but in that time you must have done some research on maser instability which explains the radio signals quite well. The 3D image you made was thought provoking but ultimately is very unconvincing.
The bigger problem is that you are not posting in a larp thread. This is very real.

I digress. You'll keep posting if you want, but I do want to ask you if you've read Ringmakers of Saturn. I think this would interest you far more than the Ganymede radio signal.

Are the flat earth and space is fake groups even the same? Earth could still be flat and space real, but it'd probably mean that the real trajectory of Atlas would be pretty weird if its not just flying through normal 3d space due to space being a weird dome instead of 3d space. I think "space is fake" is just the wrong conclusion taken from other interesting things. Most of the threads are pictures of st stuff like satellites being fake or people supposedly in space being actors. People try to take those pieces of information that space is fake, but I think the truth is that it means that space travel is fake.

Think of all the UFO discussions where they talk about how they use weird physics and gravity defying science to be able to fly. Meanwhile our space tech is just slap as many rockets on it as possible. Might work for launching a computer but a person is way harder. Whether earth is flat or round I'm not sure, but I am 100% sure no human has ever left earth. We'd need light disclosure and the reveal of alien tech to be able to do so.

You can't read or interpret images? Not really helping your case.

Associating legitimate discussion of behavioral anomalies that collectively defy statistical plausibility and suggest and origin and nature that call into question the objectively unscientific "just a rock" narrative being pushed by government agencies and mainstream media with retarded larpfaggot pseudoscientific bullshit like the "Cassandra leak" helps to discredit the former and dissuade curious people from questioning the official narrative.

>>
>>41567682

>>
>>41567642
>larpfaggot pseudoscientific bullshit like the "Cassandra leak" helps to discredit the former
I think your issue is you're assuming everyone that reads that cass stuff comes out of it with the same perspective as you are which is completely wrong. Most people reading it are going to feel that it supports all of the anomalies and gives more reason to assume its not a rock. The whole its not a rock angle being the key part. And it even does so in a way that people love, by insisting that two images were actually done by some secret government industry that they try to insist is 100% real. That's why I said it makes sense for medium to be shilling it as it has just enough paranormal bait to pull people in with hits whole secret government satellite network angle just to make some cheap clouts bucks.

We've already seen NASA be dodgy with the 40 day wait and now we saw the meta data bullshit. Bringing in more "the government is hiding stuff!" will lead further to people wanting to be MORE interested in Atlas then before. And as its pretty clear the glowniggers want us talking about Atlas LESS, I can't see any reason why cass would be considered something that they're intentionally trying to shove down our throats where all normal conclusions to be gathered from it is that its definitely not a normal rock, wether that's by thinking the images it showed were real or by believing that the government is lying about the existence of some super space network.

>>41567664
I'm just sick of this retard saying anything he disagrees with is glowies when we've had other so much more obvious glowie shit happen in these threads. I couldn't care less if cass is real or not its old news compared to what newbie astronomers are giving us now. I trust them far more then anything on Medium
>>
>>41567685
I'm a dumb monkey I didn't personally math out this object and observe it but if you have then okay I'll take ur word for it and consider it. Btw I'm neutral on the topic of cassandra, I was just mediating lol. But I do believe there is something fishy about 3i in terms of the data for sure - but could end up being an ice rock or rock because its only the 3rd interstellar object observed. We can't just assume we know everything about the universe as I'm sure physicist are learning things every day or whatever. This is me just logically speaking.
>>
If it's just a rock, why should we relax

It's a MASSIVE, world ending rock with a chance to stay in the solar system if Jupiter changes its trajectory
>>
>>41567699

>>
>>41567726

>>
>>41567699
>I think your issue is you're assuming everyone that reads that cass stuff comes out of it with the same perspective as you
I'm not. I'm saying that there is no other reasonable conclusion.

>Most people reading it are going to feel that it supports all of the anomalies
That's an assumption. We could empirically measure discussion of the anomalies and discussion of the "leak". My hypothesis is that they're not even remotely comparable.

>it makes sense for medium to be shilling it
Medium isn't shilling anything. It's a platform for literally anyone to publish just about anything. The larp's author may well be shilling it, certainly someone is.

>just to make some cheap clouts bucks.
There are other plausible motivations, like collecting personally identifiable information.

>We've already seen NASA be dodgy with the 40 day wait
And the ESA's moratorium.
>now we saw the meta data bullshit
That may or may not mean anything.

>I can't see any reason why cass would be considered something that they're intentionally trying to shove down our throats where all normal conclusions to be gathered from it is that its definitely not a normal rock
Because it gives them something associated with anomalies to point to and say "this is obviously nonsense" so that they don't have to engage with the anomalies directly.

>I'm just sick of this retard saying anything he disagrees with is glowies
And not tired of the "Cassandra leak" fags spamming the same at a much greater rate? That's very interesting.
>>
>>41567755
I'm sorry anon but you need to understand that not everyone has some huge giga brain like you do and immediately assumed cass was all fake and gay. It's a comet from a different solar system. Of course it's gonna be different than our comets. Imagine you’ve been drinking the same local coffee for your entire life. same beans, same roast, same cafe. You know the flavor, the bitterness, the slightly burnt aftertaste. it’s home coffee. Now one day, you try a cup from idk some random country you’ve never heard of. The beans were grown in soil that’s totally alien, harvested under completely different conditions, and roasted on fire for 12 minutes.

You take a sip and holy shit. It’s not just slightly off. It’s nuts. The bitterness is totally different, there’s a weird hint of flora that shouldn’t exist in coffee, and the aroma hits you different. That’s a comet from another solar system. Same basic idea. ice, dust, rock, but the ingredients, the cosmic soil, the entire roasting process of its home star? Completely alien.

Everything we know about life on Earth
Everything we know about the cosmos
Everything we know about the mountains and oceans of our planet
Everything we know about our bodies' sympathies and functions
Everything we know about our forefathers
Everything we know about the mysteries of our time; 3I/A, the mind of the machine, the nature of awareness beyond ourselves

And we cannot begin to explain dreams. Science has no answer, our ancestors have no guidance, life only serves paradoxes. And every night we face the impossible.

>I do believe there is something fishy about 3i in terms of the data for sure
It objectively does have strange behaviors. There's arguments to be made about some of these anomalies, but none of them can be conclusively refuted.

>but could end up being an ice rock or rock
It could. There's certainly a not insignificant chance that it is just that. There's also a not insignificant chance that it's not. To say conclusively that it is a comet from the data that we have now is a matter of belief. It's an ISO, interstellar object. That's the only accurate scientific classification that can be applied, and its not likely that will change with further observation. To insist that it is a comet and avoid addressing any counterpoint is not scientific. It's interesting that this is the narrative coming out of NASA et al because it's otherwise an amazing, probably once in a lifetime, opportunity to draw attention to the fields of study, to the agencies monitoring it, and to engage the public in thought provoking discussion. But they've turned all of that down in favor of insisting on the unscientific comet classification for some reason.

>its only the 3rd interstellar object observed
That's technically not true. It's the third ISO that's been classified as an ISO. Given the frequency that we've detected them in the past few years, there's zero chance that we haven't observed others, we just didn't know that that's what they were.

>We can't just assume we know everything about the universe
Absolutely. Assuming that everything that looks vaguely like a comet is a comet is a great example of that. I'm certain the universe has all sorts of exotic natural objects in its bounds that could be mistaken for a comet, and that's not considering the unnatural.

Why is no one theory crafting on its trajectory? Other then Shiva no one seems to think its doing much differences in what we planned beyond the deviation to Jupiter. Was Shiva just straight up lying or trying to exaggerate a possibility that wasn't ever happening? Like we've seen several youtubers in OP say its getting brighter but COBS says its following the planned trajectory. I've heard people here even say that its not exactly where it was supposed to be too.
Is there really no way to know for certain if its coming our way or not?

>It's a MASSIVE, world ending rock with a chance to stay in the solar system if Jupiter changes its trajectory
It needs to massively reduce its speed to be captured by Jupiter or to use it as a gravitational slingshot. It would have to either do that very rapidly at the end of its trajectory or alter its trajectory while braking to accomplish either. Unless it does, there's not any chance it will stay in the solar system.

>>41567747
That's not really true. It's passing the earth at ~1.8 AU at its closet, almost twice the distance between Earth and the sun. We have no reason to assume that there are any "unknown chemicals" in its composition, and even if there were, given its very small size and distance, there's no possibility of meaningfully "spaying" the Earth with anything.

>>41567770
>I'm sorry anon but you need to understand that not everyone has some huge giga brain like you do and immediately assumed cass was all fake and gay.
That's fine, but that's still the only reasonable conclusion.

>>41567772
>It's a comet from a different solar system.
That's one possible explanation. It's not likely that we'll have enough data to prove that conclusively.

>Of course it's gonna be different than our comets
Your analogy doesn't really hold up. Coming from a different star system across the galaxy doesn't necessarily mean that it will be significantly different in its composition from the comets in our own. There are certainly other, similar stars with comparative conditions. Comets in our own system have varying compositions. Coming from a much older star in the thick disk makes it far more likely that is does have an exotic composition in comparison, but that's only a theory, a projection based on its trajectory, and not an established fact. That theory lines up with what we can observe about it, but what we can observe is very limited.

Can you or anyone please debunk what gpt says regarding this:
-----
Even though it’s industrially famous (Mond process), nickel tetracarbonyl can form whenever:

you have nickel metal or nickel-rich grains,

exposed to carbon monoxide,

at low temperatures (−20 to 50°C range),

under low pressure environments.

These conditions absolutely do occur in comets:

Carbon monoxide is one of the most abundant volatiles in many comets

Nickel exists in dust grains, sulfides, and metal inclusions

Outer Solar System temperatures are ideal

Vacuum conditions support carbonyl formation

Cosmic rays crack ices into CO continuously

So: Ni(CO)4 does not require an industrial civilization.
It only requires nickel grains and CO gas + low temperature.
That’s why the compound does not survive in warm regions — but it can form in cold ones.

There's nothing to suggest that it is real and its claims are not falsifiable. There will be no hugging or kissing, the effort to defend it as real has been disgusting and unforgiveable.

>>41567830
Nobody knows for sure. If it's a comet, there's different ways for it to be nickel rich. Most likely it formed around a very hot, very massive star that ejected it when it died. There's other explanations, but that's most consistent with observations. The nickel isn't really difficult to explain, it's the apparent lack of iron. It might not actually be so lacking in iron though, it could just be "locked up" in less volatile compounds or deep inside while the nickel is more exposed or in more volatile compounds.
If the source is technological, the most likely answer is that its a product of superheated nickel based superalloy parts, which would be pretty ideal for propulsion and exhaust.

>>41567857
Trajectory isn't speculative. Shiva and those youtubers are conflating brightness with changes in its trajectory, that's not what's happening. We don't know *exactly* where it is, there's always slight deviation from where we expect it to be, but nothing so drastic that it could be coming toward Earth without our knowledge.

>he's also filling other anons heads with rhetoric
What rhetoric, specifically?

>the fact of the matter is we simply do not know right now.
I'll be the first to admit that, when and where it makes sense to. It doesn't make sense for the "Cassandra leak", There's zero proof that it's not fake, it even admits that explicitly. Being as it makes extraordinary claims, the burden of proof is on it, and it doesn't meet that expectation. The existence of a classified "Cassandra" program is unfalsifiable, so lack of evidence that it's false can't be proof that it's not. That's not rhetoric, it's logic.

>no public office has come out saying "Cassandra leaks are fake btw".
What does that prove in your mind?

>>41568022
It's contradicting itself.
>Outer Solar System temperatures are ideal
No, that's too cold for the Mond process.
>Vacuum conditions support carbonyl formation
No, you do need pressure.

Most importantly, you're not going to form the massive amounts of nickel carbonyl that we're seeing on or in a comet, which seems to be the implication here The bulk of it would have to be already present in that form for the kind of outgassing we've seen.

>>41568045
>what evidence of Cassandra would you consider smoking gun?
Convincing photos instead of cheap AI generated garbage, raw data used to compile the images, timestamps, technical information about the telescope, some proof of its existence being classified, internal emails with metadata, something. The fact that there's absolutely none of that is damning.

Checked. Even if it is merely an inert stone, these clowns were still massively downplaying Atlas's groundbreakingly unique qualities. Their consistent message was about how normal it is--just coffee from a different region, nothing more--when its observable qualities are objectively anomalous, regardless of whether one interprets them as natural or artificial in origin.

It's not conceit.
Flip your perspective table.

If we travel to another star system, and there are inhabitants, and we don't know their level of advancement.
You suggest we just fly the fuck into the middle of their star system, and do whatever we want?
No ethical guidance, at all?

The assumptions are drafted in logic chains that are sound. I'm not going to sit here for hours and draw them all out for you, I'm going to trust that you are smart enough to handle filling in the blanks on your own.
>>
>>41569736
We have never interacted with another civilization from outside of our solar system.

The premise has to be built on assumptions because we have NOTHING THE FUCK ELSE TO BUILD IT UPON.

Retard.
>>
>>41569844
But your assumptions are fake and gay and as valid as my assumptions that they're space furries who find humor in everything and don't want to enslave or annihilate us and instead might give some of us free pussy.
You're just fearmongering over the unknown because you're such an overwhelmingly massive fucking faggot. More than me, perhaps.

>Durr hurr we're on assumptions so all assumptions are equal.

That's the thing though, if you are casting lines into an ocean of assumptions, you probably want to at least fucking aim, if you want to hit "that was right".

So go ahead. Clear this all up for us, genius.
I'll wait.
>>
>>41569844
>We have never interacted with another civilization from outside of our solar system

Are you sure about that? Seems statistically improbable. The issue isn't assumptions, it's assuming interstellar civilizations obey the laws of the jungle. Being territorial is completely backwards and unsustainable unless you're a wild animal.

>>41569821
There is nothing 'unethical' about flying through a solar system. We have no way of knowing intentions.
Assuming they want to harvest it, Jupiter will never run out of hydrogen. There is no reason we should covet nature.
So no, it's totally illogical and anthropocentric to claim we own something that is millions of kilometers away from us and which we continually decline to use ourselves.
>>
>>41569621
What if they come in peace? What if they're not concerned about Sol's resources but rather how it's natives utilizing them?

A bunch of highly territorial, adversarial apes armed with thermonuclear bombs could stand to learn a thing or two from a more advanced race, don't you think? But that comes at the price of you learning not just about the nice shiny things you wish to use for profit and superiority, but a thing or two about higher empathy, overriding traditional obsolete points of view with more futuristic forward facing ones, restructuring your philosophies to be modular and compliant with future endeavors, learning to boost art that's more visceral and inspiring of artistic thought.

Instead of attempting to "back engineering donations", you could just learn straight from the source. But you have to be willing to CHANGE. If you aren't willing to change, then what the hell do you think you're doing attempting to utilize aspects of it? You aren't compatible with that program with that outdated OS, you are going to FUCK SOMETHING UP. If your intent is to fuck things, then that's all well and good; but if you're actually about PROGRESS, then why are you attempting to bring about the apocalypse?
>>
>>41569914
My point is your argument is moot because fear and desire are essentially synonymous when nobody has any idea what these aliens are or their intentions. Fear should not be the default emotion when dealing with extraterrestrials, it will make any problem you have with them infinitely worse regardless of your overrationalizations.

The act of entering a star system, without directed communication attempts, (maybe we missed it), but still, no active interaction attempts while flying through...

It's disrespectful. They do NOT know where our boundaries are.

What if we already had assets by Mars? Real assets? Colony stations, etc...

What if the mere act of them passing by, had put lives of our locals in danger?

They either do not care, they have surveilled us to determine it's a non-issue, they have no idea we are here, or they were prepared for conflict.

There are only so many branching possibilities, from a non-communication with movement through an unknown inhabited territory.

Feel free to feed me more possibilities that I am too stupid or lazy to list out.

I see a perfectly legitimate reason to hit them with something.
(They haven't told us not to.)

It's an equal play. They break our boundary, no communication. We break their boundary, no communication.

This is a pinata, asking to get bashed with the bat.

>so could 3i Atlas be dropping their payload of a primordial black hole into Jupiter to kickstart a fusion reaction giving us another sun?
Not without severely defying the laws of physics. 75x Jupiter's mass is the low end cutoff for fusion. You could turn it into a brown dwarf that's not doing fusion with a much smaller multiple, but that wouldn't do you much good.

>Or has my sci-fi riddled mind just created a new movie plot?
No, that's the sequel to 2001: A Space Oddessy.

>>41568731
You can't terraform Jupiter. Terraforming Jupiter's moons doesn't make much sense either. The massive amounts of radiation Jupiter gives off is less than ideal for surface habitation of its moons. If you intended to be a few kms below any icy crust you'd be okay. Saturn's moons would be much more hospitable in that regard though, and that's not still even the most ideal target for colonization. Aliens of course might have different requirements than we do.

>>41568957
>Constant brightness = it's staying at constant distance from the Sun
Changes to brightness don't necessarily mean changes to trajectory. If it's tumbling, which it appears to be, it's brightness can fluctuate substantially without its course changing.

Nukes would be virtually useless. The best you could hope for is to bump it's trajectory or shave a tiny bit off of it. Maybe irradiate any occupants if you're lucky.

So JPL adjusted their radial acceleration component twice so far

First time was when exactly? Immediately after perihelion i wonder?

>>41569922
>There is nothing 'unethical' about flying through a solar system
There's an argument to be made that letting an intelligent subject know that it's being observed is unethical behavior. We treat other great apes like gorillas like that. A subject that's aware it's being observed also changes it's behavior and spoils the results of observation. So, if an intelligence on or responsible for 3I/ATLAS had at least the same level of scientific understanding that we do, which wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption, and it was aware of intelligent life in our system or even that it might potentially host intelligent life, a flyby would be most ethical and scientific. Interestingly, the closest distance that it will pass Earth at, ~1.8 AU, is ideal for exactly that scenario. We won't be able to see enough detail to determine that it's intelligent in its nature without crazy behavioral anomolies, but it will pass along the observational edge of where it would be able to detect oceans and land, atmospheric composition, and detect a biosphere.

>>41569925
There's no way for an occupant or sensor on 3I/ATLAS to detect a nuclear detonation in our atmosphere much less past detonations from even the distance it will pass at. It's not a technological problem, it's a physics problem.

Assuming an intelligent origin, a probe would be more likely to have noble, scientific intentions. A live alien presence would be a very different scenario. I don't think it wise to assume they would "come in peace" for some hippy nonsense.

>>41569965
>What about the 'wow!' signal?
Nothing about the Wow! signal indicates that it was intelligent, intentional communication. It's most consistent with an object emitting a constant tone passing very quickly through the narrow beam of Big Ear.

JPL's latest calculations as of today puts it outside the edge of Jupiter's Hill radius by about 80,000 km or within .15% of it with an uncertainty of almost 60,000 km.
