Cute, collectible, and weird.Demons are easy, there are tons of messed up designs to draw from. Angels are trickier since they’re usually shown as humanoids, legions, or abstract mandalas.So I wanted to ask if you know any “canon” angels with abstract, geometric, symbolic, or bizarre traits that could inspire this project.And if you feel like going wild, suggest other themes that fit the vibe. Astrology, tarot, mysticism, whatever sparks ideas.I’m planning on making 5 angels and 5 demons.

Yeah the visual depictions we get of angels are generally pretty lacking because they were conflated with caricatures of pagan gods for years in order to humanize them. However, it's all about the art of interpretation, which I can tell you're obviously good at. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of lore devoted to them, but as far as angels go, Af and Hemah seem up your alley. According to the apocryphal Gedulat Moshe: "In the last heaven Moses saw two angels, each five hundred parasangs in height, forged out of chains of black fire and red fire, the angels Af, "Anger", and Hemah, "Wrath", whom God created at the beginning of the world, to execute His will. Moses was disquieted when he looked upon them, but Metatron embraced him, and said, "Moses, Moses, thou favorite of God, fear not, and be not terrified," and Moses became calm." I've absolutely never played it, but I guess the artist behind Shin Megami Tensei has some pretty creative designs for angels derived from his interpretations of the Islamic equivalents of angels from Christianity. Such an avenue might be fruitful for you inspiration-wise, the old artwork is certainly captivating. Come to think of it, a Seraphim design with a screen which simply reads "HOLY HOLY HOLY" could be pretty cute.
