What if animism is not a visual thing
people say it looks creepy. they typically blame the uncanny valley + mo-cap. eh, i think it looks typica. then again i did grow up around non-humans that act like animals, so i'm probably really desensitized to the uncanny valley, imitation people stuff. the "people" in my life usually had really janky, literally ape movements, limited facial expressions due to simpler face musculature, subhuman behaviors, grunting gorilla trilling voices that would range from high-pitched trilling to low, blorbling grunting and snorfing.... yes they were irish. anyway.anyway, it's also suggested that growing up with photoshopped images on magazines & advertisements also desensitizes us to the uncanny valley effect. those models on the back of magazines have had their eyes enlarged, facial features adjusted in photoshop. they don't look like they do irl.
