Any /x/ games with a similar atmosphere to Resident Evil 4? Ive tried The Secret World but it was depressingly dead.
Demon's Souls (PS3)Gears of War 1 (360/PC)Gears 1 in particular was literally inspired by RE4 and has similar gameplay and a similar oppressing atmosphere. Also, call me crazy, but I've always thought RE4 and Ocarina of Time had a similar flow and vine in some ways.
I've never played re4 so forgive me but call of cthulhu dark corners of the earth feels similar.

>>41661407there's a lot you have to put aside to enjoy secret world. the graphics and animations were shit even for that era, the combat is clunky and not very fun to play, and the relaunch of the game made it objectively worse. the writing, worldbuilding, sound design and puzzle missions are where it really shines. the tyler freeborn arc in the new england area is one of the most kino mission chains in any game I've ever played and the final arc of the 3rd area (transylvania) is also up there.
>>41661541I actually think that the graphics look good. I meant the general design style of the 2010s (clothes, tech, music, etc.) Could barely get through Watch Dogs 1 for this reason. I might try Secret World again. Just to clarify - is the arc that youre referring to faction specific?

>>41661560not faction specific (one of the faction-specific templar missions is spooky af though). it starts when you find a memory card in the 3rd map of the new england zone. it was an extra mission chain that served as a capstone for the zone as a whole (each zone had one set of missions like this).
