Any tips on how to perceive auras?
>>
no idea
I've seen an aura only once before and it wasn't something I did consciously but I think it was because
a.) I was related to the person and knew them well
and
b.) they were exerting a strong emotional aura around them and directing it at me.
it was honestly not a pleasant sight.

>it was honestly not a pleasant sight
Why?
>>
>>41661827
because it was charged with a negative emotion I guess and looked like a shadowy shroud around the person, like they were enveloped in a dark cloud.

Yes become a survivor of child abuse, develop PTSD or a personality disorder like BPD or NPD or some shit, and then your stunted mind will have problems with emotional regulation + hyper vigilance. So the next time you see another human, you will start projecting delusional feelings onto the people you interact with. You will think people have "auras" or "vibes". Instead of noticing obvious social cues using objective reasoning, you will rely on vague emotional states to process the information and you'll see someone who is angry (their mother died due to hospital neglect) and you will see a "bad person" because like, you could just see that aura, man.

>>41661846 Interesting. So your experience was spontaneous? You didn't do anything specific or practice anything? That suggests you have a natural predisposition for this kind of thing.

>>
>>41661858 That's not true. Long-term meditation practice can often lead to the perception of auras; trauma isn't a prerequisite.
>>
>>41661879
That's because long-term meditation is self-induced dissociation. You get all the Dissociative affects without paying the trauma toll. Sorry I shouldn't say dissociation, "detachment" is what meditation fanatics call it
>>
>>41661869 I don't know, anon. I get the impression that a person who suggests beginners meditate for 2 hours a day doesn't know what they're talking about. Or perhaps we have different understandings of what meditation is. You shouldn't force meditation; it's better to start small, say 15 to 25 minutes, and no more. It affects your psyche, and a beginner's mind is completely unprepared for that.

2 hours isn't that abnormal. Part of the sikh religion is to do simran mantra meditation 2 hours every morning. Buddhist monastics tend to do around 8+
hours split up over the course the day
>>
>>41661898 That's not true. You perceive more as you expand your consciousness. This isn't dissociation; it's evolution.
>>
>>41661928
Nah it's dissociating from the body/sense matrix for sure
>>
>>41661925 I'm not saying you're wrong. It's just that meditators can be classified into different types. I'm a visual one. When I started, I experienced a lot of visuals, many of them unpleasant. Mostly, they were manifestations of my own unprocessed samskaras. In that state, sitting for two hours straight would have been impossible for me back then.
>>

I tend to get the fear too once psychic sensations start happening. That's why I've realized it's best for me to meditate with a divine protective name like Jesus or Amitabha. It's nice to have them for company too during the whole process.
>>
>>41661393
You see them before you recognize the person, like off in the distance or out of the corner of your eye.
>>
>>41661860
I think it was mainly because I was familiar with the person and had an emotional connection.
>>
I have been told that "hands of light" by barbara brennan has a section on aura vision training
>>
>>41662288 That's a fair point. Still, you went through the experience, and that alone suggests you have an innate predisposition that can be developed. I mean, lots of people around you have a close emotional connection to each other, yet they don't see auras.
>>
>>41662325 Thank you for sharing this, anon.

when i was 13 and just heard about woowoo stuff, i decided to view auras. one random woman at a library was odd - instead of the standard glow with colors around it, she got some weird red hologram copy, like virtualboy graphics copy, and the red holo just kinda shadowed her.
never seen anyone else's aura do that. the copy included her clothes.

I saw my own aura only once too, my experience was no unpleasant tho, and it came and went like a flash
>>

i noticed mine, cyan, always matches any color my dream body has while dreaming or doing astral stuff. conclusion i came to is your aura color is probably the base color of your dream/astral body.

i know of someone who has a purple aura.
