My boomer dad see's shadow people hes in his 90s and he talks to them, they tell him to send money to somalia and he sends money there.I can't talk him out of it, and nobody can. What can i do?
>>41669365Stop posting about it online.
>>41669381hmm ok sorry /x/
Tell him they said to give you the money instead
>>41669365Go tell /pol/ they will be very supportive of your father funding Somalians.
Make up a story about a relative that sent money to Somalia and now has health issues , because he/she was visited by shadow people that said to stop sending money.
>>41669365you have to immobilize him somehow.
Some forms of dementia involve hallucinations, though delusions/false-memories are more common.I witnessed it my own grandfather. He'd sometimes turn and respond to someone who wasn't there, or ask about people that he claimed to have just seen. A lot of these hallucinations involved "a woman". I don't think the woman was his wife or any of his children, but he was never able to relay her name or what she looked like. When someone with dementia has delusions or hallucinations, it can be easier to accept the delusion as true, and add your own spin to it. Kind of like dream logic.Instead of saying "I didn't see any shadow people" say something like "Oh. They told me that they don't need the money anymore." or "It's ok, I already sent the money for you."
