The only noticeable physical change was a single wave that cascaded through the sky, slightly changing the hue of the sky. I was 12 watching out of the car window when it happened, it was subtle enough that you wouldn't have noticed unless you had been watching the sky closely. That was the last day I experienced what I would call "old-joy". I was still capable of feeling "joy" after that day. But it was no longer a positive emotion that filled you with the essence of life, but a negative one that intentionally took you to a peak so it could watch you fall down. I believe this to be a divine punishment. But also entertain the idea that we are intentionally being decayed/sabotaged as a species, either internally or externally, for a plethora of reasons.
