Okay, here's the situation. At work, some key people want publications about the project we've been working on. I have demonstrated experience and expertise in that and want to switch my career to something more communications-oriented. So, I drafted a "paper" of what has been done, but the manager ignored it, yet a senior advisor loved it at least tentatively. A week later, I posted an internal update - and got ignored again, even by the senior advisor whom I thought could be an excellent ally or sponsor. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the management wanted to bring, and eventually brought, another person to the team just to write publications while I was working on the paper; therefore, I sort-of did this new guy's job and overstepped my boundaries, and the manager probably hates me for it and "poisoned" the senior advisor against me.
